That um the picture that you all are seeing, and I know Don, you would recognize um some of them your dear friends, like uh Sunny Hosta in front to you and to me, uh some you've had on your show, like Shannon Watts.
Um I sa so many people, uh Rhonda Fox who brought us all together for the persist movement after she worked on
um in the Biden Harris administration and worked on the campaign.
And uh Gloria had a talking circle for us, which was one of the things in her later years that she was doing often for all kinds of different groups, whether it was Emerge, I see the head of Emerge is Shanti Golar in the picture.
I see Karen Kahn, um Carolyn Pompeizi, Tina Chen.
So many people
Women who in their own rights have been strong in
political and media circles who have been standing up for freedom and for democracy and for women's rights.
And she was allowing for her home to be a gathering space for us to have candid conversations, not for us to all sit there and agree and be kind of like yes choruses, but for us to challenge each other and challenge the ways that we were going to show up for
And show up for the causes that we cared about.
And this was December 2024.
So many of us were raw.
With with emotion.
Um, in in the months following that election, people had worked so very hard.
And this was like a first step of us coming and saying, where do we go from here?
And so I appreciate the times that I was able to interact with her.
Um, and so many people say she listened more than she talked.
Um
And in those rooms, that is what you would find that she was asking the questions and then listening and then bringing more people to the table and more people after that.
And you know, now she is an ancestor and uh she's she's carried the baton for as long as she possibly could and she left a charge for all of us.
