And I think we all have to figure out
Um, whether we're doing enough to answer that call.
Right, no, and one of the things that I appreciate um uh about Gloria during her life, she understood that there was no single group that benefited more from this civil rights movement uh than white women.
And so when she was bringing people to the table, she was she was bridging, um, as Molly just finished saying, she was ensuring that there were black women.
Women, brown women, Asian women in the room because she understood that even as we fought, that some amongst us as as women had advanced further than others.
And we were the ones, black folks, who were paying ultimate sacrifices for the gains that were made.
And she did not run from that.
And we can't run from that.
You know, I see a lot of people who call themselves
uh progressive call themselves civil rights activists and fighters who don't fully understand the history or aren't willing to acknowledge it.
And that's some of what keeps us apart.
Gloria was not a part of that.
She was one who sat in the history, who lived the history, frankly, and and was able to tell the story.
And so I think what we have to do now is ensure that our storytellers that that we take these opportunities.
I when I look back to send you that picture, Don, I looked at my um text messages from that day, and I was sharing with all my different girlfriend groups.
Chats, you'll never believe.
Like I didn't say it beforehand because you know you can't say things before they happen.
But once it had happened and we put the pictures, I was texting everybody and saying wasn't on my bingo card for this December, but this is what just happened.
This is what I just experienced.
This is where we're going from here.
