Jesse, I'm going to lean on you heavily for the next couple of minutes because I want it. You've been discussing this a lot and I know that you have, you know, you got limited time here. So thank you both for joining us. Let's put up the Hollywood Reporter story. OK, Tyler Perry accuser speaks according to the Hollywood Reporter. and really bringing up some things that are very sensitive. In his first interview since, filing a $260 million sexual assault claim against the Madea creator actor Derek Dixon says he felt compelled to go public because everyone deserves to go to work and do their job without their boss trying to have sex with them.
Jesse, where is this coming from? Where are we on this case? I'm surprised that he's speaking, actually.

I thought it was really interesting that he did this. And I think first of all, when you read the article, it reads almost verbatim to the 46 page complaint. And there was something at the beginning of the complaint that stood out to me and why I'm not surprised he's actually doing this as a part of the complaint. Obviously, he talks about unwanted sexual advances. He talks about being groped. He makes allegations that are allegedly corroborated by text messages that could be problematic for Tyler Perry. But there's a part at the beginning where he says that he's not the only victim, essentially. that this is a pattern, that Tyler Perry did this to other actors. And then he speaks out. And I thought to myself, is he trying to do a siren call right now?
Is he trying to say, hey, can other people come forward and back up my claims, be witnesses? Hey, can other people file lawsuits? Why? We're in a post-Diddy world. Remember what happened with Diddy? Cassie Ventura filed her first lawsuit in 2023, and then there was a wave of lawsuits. And obviously, when you have more, you have to judge each one on the basis of what's being alleged. But could it help with settlement negotiations? Could it help him legally moving forward? And I do wonder. It is unusual. A lawyer would tell you, don't speak out. Let the complaint do the talking. Let us do the talking in the court of law. But I did wonder whether or not that might be an aim moving forward.
So you think that you said it reads just like the complaint and most people did not read the full complaint. But if it does, I didn't actually read the full complaint. I saw the highlights of it. But there were some salacious things that have not been mentioned in the media. Is it too sensitive? And I think there was a little bit more in that Hollywood Reporter article.
No. There's a little bit more context, but I think when you look at the heart of it, a lot of it, I would encourage everybody to read the complaint. And I think what's interesting is typically in these situations, when you're dealing with allegations of sexual harassment and retaliation, a lot of it can be a he said, he said, she said, he said complaint. But here, when you have text messages, you try to put into context text messages from Tyler Perry. Derek, why don't you text me more? Why did that photo make me jealous?
