Chapter 2: How is ICE's impact felt in Minnesota?
Some of you may have seen some of it already, but then we're going to try to get you some advice and help on where we go from here. Is there an off-ramp? Is there a solution? There are people who are saying out there in Michigan and San Diego County that drastic measures need to be taken by citizens and protesters. We'll discuss all of that. Charlotte, this morning, we'll discuss that.

Chapter 3: What alarming incidents involving ICE are highlighted?
If you're on the, especially if you're on the YouTube app, hit that thumbs up button, right? There are two thumbs, one's up, one's down. Press that one's up, the one that's up because it affects the algorithm, the more people become aware of our conversation. And here's something that I'm very proud of. We were nominated for four NAACP Image Awards, four of them. That is huge.
I don't even know if there are the networks And any individual at a network is nominated for four NAACP awards. I didn't check, but I did it like a cursory thing and it's amazing. But I didn't realize you had to vote.

Chapter 4: What legal rights do individuals have when confronted by ICE?

Because this is out of control. It's been out of control for a long time. But I think it's worse now and getting worse because they're getting away with it.
They're getting away with it, and I am concerned that more people are going to be harmed further and not just from being dragged out of their cars, bruises and bumps and that kind of thing, but someone else is going to lose their lives, their life, or other people are going to lose their lives. Other people will. Canada, Sydney, Australia, I see you there. I am concerned about that.
Chapter 5: What solutions are proposed to address ICE's actions?
I just want to show you some of it of what's happening. This is, and then I'll tell you, there are these ice raids without warrants. But the woman, do we have the woman from yesterday who was dragged out of the car, Andy? If you can get that, that woman, and she's the woman who is on our thumbnail. She is the woman that is, I believe, is the focus of the show today.
She's trying to get through traffic. She's saying she has a doctor's appointment. You can see she's stuck. There are a bunch of people there. and check it out, then it becomes violent. And she doesn't become violent, they become violent, watch.
Hey, go that way. Hey, back the fuck up. Sidewalk, sidewalk, sidewalk, sidewalk, sidewalk, sidewalk. Force is not law!

Please, I haven't been at my police before. I'm disabled. I'm going to go to the doctor up there. That's why I didn't move. I'm going to go to the doctor up there. That's why I didn't move. This is your duty. Why don't you help that woman? Help that woman. Why don't you help someone? All you do is hurt. All you do is hurt.

Chapter 6: How do community members and advocates respond to ICE enforcement?
And then he gets in her car and drives off.
That is a damn shame. And I'm just going to, pardon my language, because this is how we say it when it's a goddamn shame. This is sinful. It is outrageous. It is unacceptable. This must be stopped. We have to do something. And I'm calling on lawmakers to do something. This is inhumane. This is not about whether you are, everything's about politics. Everything's about race.
So I'm not even going to say that. But this is outrageous. This has to stop. And how is it going to stop? Unless people take drastic measures. And there are plenty more of them. It happens. And I believe that after Renee Nicole Good sadly lost her life in the neighborhood in a city where she was a citizen and paid taxes, I think they've become emboldened It has gotten worse.
They are covering it up. There's no investigation. And they have turned the victim into the perpetrator and the perpetrator into the victim. It is a goddamn shame. And I say that a G-O-T, not a G-O-D. That's how we say it. Got. Robert Held is here. He's a Chicago-based attorney.
Chapter 7: What role do lawyers play in fighting against ICE's tactics?
We know him from Chicago when we spent time there covering these awful, awful ICE incidents, this brutality in Chicago. And he has become the voice of the people helping them. Robert, thank you for joining us this morning. I don't know if you are as angered or as outraged as I am. But I'm really I hate saying pissed off. I hate that word. But I am really this ticks me off every time I see it.
What is going on? And let's give some people some help as to what rights they have and what they can do.
Well, part of the problem is that the administration has empowered, and as you put it, emboldened these agents. And how have they done that? Well, look at almost any statement from anybody in the administration. If you start with the vice president who said that they can do this, that there is no consequence, that they can violate the law. He said that they have absolute immunity.
What does he even mean? Immunity from breaking the law? We know where the Supreme Court went a year and a half ago and essentially said that the president and the performance of his duties can't be charged with a crime.
But let's get away from that politics and get to the practicality of the danger that citizens and protesters and immigrants and all of us are facing, not only in Minnesota, but across the country. And so if you go to Kristi Noem, who, as you put it, took what we can see with our own eyes and created what they used to say were alternative facts, you and I would say she lied.
Kristi Noem lied to our face and in the face of a video which is plain on its face. So I could go on and on, but I'll pause right there. But essentially what's happening is that agents are being emboldened by the leadership of this country. And when you go right down the line, down to Gregory Bovino and Tom Homan, it's the same story.
They are empowered, emboldened, and told that they're going to be immune from violating the law and we can't have that.
Is this legal, Robert?
No, no. An agent must have one of two things. Federal agent, whether they're ICE or Border Patrol, must have one of two things before they make an arrest. They either have to have a judicial warrant or they have to have probable cause.

Chapter 8: What actions can citizens take to resist unlawful detentions?
Probable cause is different than reasonable suspicion. Let's not get into the nuances because they don't have anything. They have the color of a person's skin or they have the false predicate that they're somehow impeding the ability of the agents to do their job. But that's a false predicate. That's not what is happening here. They are escalating. They're provoking.
and they are violating the law and becoming violent for no reason.
I'm going to show some different videos, Robert, because I want to go through a number of them. So that is the woman yesterday. And then ICE is going out. There's another woman who was, let's see, there are ICE raids without warrant. Let's put that up, Andy.

So we don't... I didn't see what happened a few seconds prior to the start of the clip. You ever hear the expression that a person's home is their castle? There's a reason. Our law is important... The castle doctrine, is that it? From English common law. And we have the right...
to protect our home so uh they cannot come into a home without a search warrant if they don't have a search warrant and you don't open the door they can't open it for you and i dare say don i and i hesitate to say it but i think more people are going to die um because the escalation look at that individual in the military tactical gear with the weapon raised is face mask on and a helmet.
This is a military style operation in someone's home. This is, this is not on a trajectory that anybody wants.
