There you see on your screen, of course, Miss Simone Redwine, the host of Girl Is That Legal? Attorney as well, in the courtroom all day today. And he's going to break it down. And there's a shot of the courthouse, the U.S. District Court in New York. Sean Diddy Combe, sentenced to... Four years in prison?

So the courtroom today was very solemn. It was filled with Diddy's closest friends and relatives. Of course, his children were there. They all spoke to the court in the late afternoon, the late morning session. And it was very solemn and it was respectful in comparison to in the past, the defense team really was very colloquial. They really wanted to be friendly both with the jurors and with influencers in the audience. Today was about business. And today, it started off with the prosecution basically giving their breakdown. Their recommendation was 135 months. And then the defense was asking for 14 months, which is basically time served, one more month. And in the end, the judge gave just 10 months less than what the federal probation department was requesting.
So he gave Diddy a little bit of credit, for example, for being a first-time offender and, I guess, for contributing to the community, blah, blah, blah. So he took off 10 months from their recommendation. But his whole family was in shock. They were absolutely in shock. There were tears.

Oh, yeah. So there were tears throughout the day. I was actually surprised to see that the first set of tears wasn't actually Diddy's relatives. It was attorney Nicole Westmoreland. So she was the first attorney to open for Diddy. And her section, I have to tell you, was real boring. It was real. It was a snooze fest. And I was surprised because she's generally really good. But she opened her section. talking about basically Diddy as a businessman and how he started Revolt. And she began to talk about how he founded and created Revolt, the television network, et cetera, and like broke into tears. And literally in the courtroom, we all looked at, we were in an overflow courtroom. We looked at each other like, is she crying?

No, I guess she just knows something we don't know. I guess that's her bestie. She also gave a personal anecdote about how eight years ago she was trying to grow her law practice and she saw Diddy speak at an event that was about mass incarceration, which she is passionate about. And she said hearing him speak changed her life. And she started crying some more. I mean, there was snot flying. There was snot. And I was like, give me something to cry about. I'm going to cry too. Girl, what? Because I particularly thought the defense team was like a dream team when it came to the substantive case, right? They had the jury by the balls. The jury was invigorated by them. The jury liked the way they told the story.
Today, I say, whose bad idea was this? wasn't connecting like they led with Diddy the businessman girl don't nobody care because he used all that money to do all that naughty stuff that we saw so I didn't see how that was in any way supposed to mitigate but in the end her point was look how he helps all these people and he donates and he gives money he'll do much more good for the world from out here than in there Girl, whatever.
So let me ask you because the judge said that 11 months was not enough because that's what the defense wanted. That's right. And said, was it 14 or 14 months? Was it 14 months or 11 months? It was 14. 14 months and then 11 years, she said, or he said was too much.
Too much. I said, the prosecution has been wonky and crazy on their side too. So it's just two unreasonable people on both sides.
