Welcome to the Don Lemon Show. Thanks for watching. And support for the show comes from ZBiotics. I've got to tell you about this game-changing little drink that I use before a night out. It's called pre-alcohol. It is the world's first genetically engineered probiotic. Now, here's how the thing works, okay? When you drink, your body turns alcohol into this toxic byproduct that makes you feel awful the next morning, okay? It is not dehydration. It is that byproduct that alcohol creates in your gut. ZBiotics pre-alcohol actually helps break that down. so that you can wake up feeling fresh. I first tried it before a dinner party with friends. Had a glass of wine, maybe two the next morning. I still felt great.
I was ready to come and do the show and no problems at all. Now I don't go without it. So make the most of every toast and every tailgate this season, every holiday party for whatever it is that you're doing, right? And you may have a couple sips. Go to zbiotics.com slash lemon. Use the code lemon for 15% off of your first order. They'll even refund you if you're not happy. No questions asked. That's zbiotics.com slash lemon and use the code lemon for 15% off of your first order. Good evening, everybody. Welcome to the Don Lemon Show. Thank you so much for joining us. It is election night in the country and a couple of big elections going on all across the country, but New York City, wow. That is the hang on one second.
That is the one that a lot of folks are watching, especially us here in New York City, you know, because we think that we are the center of the universe. So thank you so much for joining us. Glad that you're here. Make sure you hit the like. Make sure you hit the thumbs up. It affects the algorithm. More people become aware of our conversation and our channel here. We have some great folks coming for you a little bit later on. Great guests, including Dave Weigel. And Tom Nichols are going to join us a little bit later on in the show. And we're so happy to have their analysis, two of the best reporters, not just political reporters, but just the best out there. And they're going to bring us the updates.
You saw we had some polling places all over the country to show you there, right? Virginia, we know is happening, New Jersey, New York City, and out in California. Big, big, big stuff. So good evening, everybody. Welcome. Tonight, America is standing in two different places at once. On one side, there's a celebration. There's a blue wave rolling across the country from Virginia to New Jersey, California to New York City. Well, that's what the pollsters predicted. We'll see if that remains. On the other side, there is a shutdown, a government frozen by chaos and cruelty, while masked men are unmarked in unmarked vans, I should say, are dragging citizens off the streets. That's not democracy. It makes people feel like they're under occupation.
So when people say a blue wave is coming, you know, I ask, what does that really mean? To win an election while our own government is shut down and your neighbors are disappearing? What does that really mean? What does it mean to celebrate democracy while democracy itself is bleeding out on the sidewalks? What does that mean? Because tonight the numbers may be blue, but the mood across this country, black and blue, that's the mood bruised from what we have endured. And every vote counted tonight, every single one is an act of defiance against that darkness. In Virginia, people said that they wanted decency back. They wanted calm over chaos. They wanted leadership that doesn't feed on fear. In Jersey, in Jers, New Jersey, working families showed up because they're tired of watching politicians argue.
While their paychecks are just shrinking. And then in California, fighting over who gets to draw the maps, the districts, because they know if you control the map, then you control the truth. And in New York City, which is where I am right now, voters are saying loud and clear. This city belongs to the people. It doesn't belong to the billionaires.
