I'm talking about Ghislaine Maxwell. Her attorney is asking that she be pardoned. The president has been asked about it. We're going to play his response shortly, but let me just show you how we got here, okay? Because this was way back in 2016, you know, not long after he came down the golden escalator announcing that he was going to run for president when Donald Trump was swept into the White House on a wave of paranoid conspiracy, on conspiracy theories, a whole QAnon. Well, this was even before QAnon. Before it was recognized as a phenomenon, he wooed its early believers to talk about Bill Clinton. and Prince Andrew, and a secret cabal of liberal lawmakers and billionaires. In fact, as reported by the K-file over on the CNN earlier today, Trump was the first person to ever bring up Jeffrey Epstein at all in the context of politics in order to repeatedly attack Bill Clinton back in 2015.
He did this at CPAC and in an interview with Bloomberg at the time. Now, as he faces perhaps the really... a terrible or gravest scandal of his political career. He is trying to escape it by making a deal with one of the very monsters he vowed to destroy, and that's Ghislaine Maxwell. Okay? Or he used to demonize his political opponents. Earlier today, he floated the idea offering that the convicted child trafficker a pardon. And this afternoon, an attorney stated explicitly for the first time that Ghislaine Maxwell wants a pardon. There's irony here. Wrote into power by stoking fears of this P-file cabal run by, or cabals run by his political enemies, and now his legacy could be destroyed by letting one of those people out of prison.
