Chapter 1: What major life change is Jamie Marinos discussing in this episode?
Angels, we're in the Ella era. Prepare for liftoff. Guys, we've got Jamie back in the house. Welcome. Hi, I like live here now. How lucky am I? I got three episodes out of you.
Yeah, I've never done three episodes with anyone. I've done two, but never three. Three?
I mean, three is a sweet spot. So I thought we just had to get you back on because we've got two major headlines that have come out in the last couple of weeks. The first one is that you're moving to Athens.
Oh, I was like, I was like, who's sleeping with who?
I mean, fuck, if you guys heard what we just spoke about off the record, you would be absolutely shook to your core. But there is another headline and it is that Dave is going to be on Perfect Match, which I think is, I mean, I didn't realize it's coming out in nine days. Yeah.
Is it nine days? I mean, I don't follow the show. I don't follow him.
I don't know anything about Dave. I don't know anything about the show either. And then I saw, like, obviously my algorithm's a bit maths right now because I've been having all the maths guests. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Definitely tripping out. I thought I'd seen that he had a girlfriend. I don't know how the show works. Apparently you win.
money i'm not too sure okay it is i know it is competition based right honestly so i love reality tv and um when they approached me to go on the show i struggled to watch it yeah i didn't make it through the first episode i think this when like harry came on it was very like i mean i love trashy tv but i started panicking thinking about being on a show in that format only because like it doesn't really align with where i'm at like
When I was on mass, like, I wasn't, like, I think some people definitely, like, played up. I just want to get married. I just want to settle down. But really, they just want to, like, fuck bitches. Probably.

Chapter 2: How does Jamie feel about moving to Athens, Greece?
You know what I mean? I feel like the dudes want to just fuck bitches.
Like, you know what I mean? Yeah, yeah. I feel like most of us women, like, yeah, we really want to settle down. And some men, like, everyone has their own agenda. Yeah. But, like, I was legit. I went on because, like, I want to be a mom. Like, I want to settle down and find the right person.
Like, since mass, I literally haven't even, like, dated because I'm, you know, I take that part seriously still. And I felt like going on a show like that really didn't align with where I was going.
Chapter 3: What surprising news does Jamie share about her ex-husband?
I felt like I almost would have to adopt this other persona of me that's, like,
pro just quick connections. And it's funny you say that. Cause I remember when I came off maths and I was single and I was like, what other reality TV shows would I actually do? Cause I am single. And like, now I'm like, I still want to settle down. But then you think about all these other dating shows and it's like maths is probably the least tack. It is.
It actually, it is. I mean, some people would disagree, but when you actually look at it from all other dating shows, like, you know, I'm not in a bikini all day. I'm not fighting some, you know, fighting a woman for a man that's like, can't keep it in his pants. Like, that's what I mean. I just, one, I'm not, I don't want to fight for a man.
I don't want to compete for a man that just does not sit well with me at all.
No.
I've hit 30 I do take things more seriously yeah it didn't align with me and it was a hard opportunity to turn down purely based on the fact is you know it was like a Netflix show yeah and okay that's that's huge but at the same time if something doesn't feel right intuitively like I think you ultimately know and I really looked at the direction I was going and it didn't align.
And then, yeah, once I caught wind, my ex-husband was going to be on the show. I'm like, why would I sacrifice my mental health for someone's entertainment? Obviously he wasn't bothered because I know he knew I was approached as well. I mean, cause everyone was kind of, there was discussion. So I would dare say he definitely knew I was approached too. Word travels, people know, people find out.
But like, there's just no way, no way, no way on this earth could you put me in a room with my ex-husband and then just start dating other people. And I just, yeah, I would, I would have absolutely lost my mind. Are you going to watch it? No. No. I couldn't even watch it when my ex-husband wasn't on the show.
But when I watch it now, I'm honestly like, then like I am going to be in a very like transformative chapter of my life. Like I'm literally moving overseas. I love that.

Chapter 4: Why did Jamie decide against appearing on reality TV?
So like I don't really plan on just watching random shows that don't appeal to me. But. Wish him the best. Wish him the best.
Good luck, Dave, if you are listening. Yeah, just be authentic, babe. Treat him well. Yeah, be authentic.
Show some growth for the next one.
So moving on to the more exciting news, the more exciting headline is that you're moving to Athens, dude. Okay, so last time you came on, you were saying you maybe were going to move overseas. Yep.
I've been dropping hints for so long, but I couldn't actually confirm if I was going. To be fair, I only booked my flights like last week. Okay.
So why did you make the big...
reveal last week what finalized um because my sister and I both have a job amazing um in in Melbourne so we have to like actually resign oh yeah no it's not that amazing I know we didn't get a job over there I thought okay
okay so you had to resign we had to resign from our car i mean my sister's my manager so that's my sister is in management at the emerson right so for her it was it was going to be you know quite a big loss on their end and so she was very apprehensive so we had to make sure we were like a hundred percent and yep and then we Didn't really know when to leave.
Actually, we got our citizenship in December. By the way, the easiest fucking thing, which is crazy. Citizenship in Athens? Like even if your parents are Greek citizens, it can take four years. That's what I got quoted, four years.

Chapter 5: What advice does Jamie offer for living an authentic life?
So I fly out on the 19th of May. Holy smokes. Yeah. So it's like, what, 16 days away? Yeah. I know. And I'm going to Adelaide tomorrow. Wait.
Are you coming back to me? Yeah, I'm coming back.
But it's just like I feel like I'm losing days really quickly. How are you feeling? Are you starting to feel a little bit emotional about it? Sometimes I feel like a little bit sad. I think right now I have a lot of excitement and more so like stress of actually moving because I'm going to pour everything into two suitcases. Wow.
that like I want the rest of like I'm like we're like throwing out furniture or donating or selling and this and so it's like actually doing all that is just like annoying it's annoying it's so annoying um so I'll say goodbye to my family because all my family are in Adelaide so I'll do that this week so that's not gonna be fun because I don't know when I'll see everyone again so it's like the unknown this is a huge deal yeah like I always said to myself if I was 30 single
Get me out of this country. And I think if you're 30 and you're single and you're listening, go. Because I feel like it's the best thing that you can do. Yeah. Traveling, it's the best medicine for your soul. Like it sounds cliche, but I feel like you do truly find yourself when you put yourself in these crazy situations where it's like you're forced to actually do something on your own.
No, 100%. I remember like even moving to Melbourne.
Yeah.
Like I learned so much and I grew up so, I like grew so much. And I remember like eight Greece trips I've done. My mum was always very pro travel. My dad's like, why? Why? Go buy a house. What are you doing? Buy a house and get married. Like, for God's sake. Like, why can't you just do that? And my mum's always been like, go see the world. Go do it.
And I'm grateful I did because, yeah, it's exactly what you're saying. You learn so much. And I think, like, I love Australia. Don't get me wrong. We are so lucky to be born into this country. Like, it is a beautiful country. I just know there's something more for me. And you've always got to sacrifice something for something else.

Chapter 6: What challenges does Jamie anticipate in her move to Athens?
Yeah.
Obviously as well, I do want to focus on building a TV career. Like again, I'd love to do more TV work, posting, et cetera. And so I kind of want to be closer to the UK for that.
Yeah. The UK is an amazing place, I think, for growth and for TV opportunities. So if you got asked to go on a dating show, I don't even know the dating shows over there, but if you got asked to do, what is there? Love Island. Oh, so let's go dating could be cool. Fuck, Love Island UK would be fucking cool. I mean – Just wear, like, a cool one-piece.
I'd feel so naked wearing a bikini every day. I'm such the opposite. Like, I'm a tracksuit kind of girl. Yes, Amy. The thing is with Love Island, like, it would be cool because I do love UK boys and the accents and everything.
It's such a good time.
But, again, competition shows for a man don't really sit too well with me. Yeah. So I don't love that. I also feel like I'm, like, you know, I'm getting, like – I'm in my 30s now. Yeah. Would I be the oldest Love Island person?
No. I feel like Love Island, US and UK, aren't they like up to 35? That's like a whole five years ahead of you.
Are they? I don't watch Love Island. What?
I mean, I've only watched the US ones. And that is like best TV ever. You have got to watch the US.

Chapter 7: What insights does Jamie have about the dating culture in Greece?
A man that can't keep it in his pants and all these women fall for it makes me want to just remove this man from everyone.
Like, stop.
No one. I didn't get the appeal either because I was like, he doesn't look like David Beckham or something.
And even when I look at him now, he looks a lot more older. But back then he just looked like a young Aussie and he was just so childish and too immature.
But the banter, I get it though. I'm a banter person. But like at the same time, girls, everyone knows who he is and who's been there. But I guess it's like, you know, like Geordie Shore with Gaz. True. Like everyone knew he had slept with like over a thousand women. Everyone's like... Me next.
Yeah, they were lining up. They still wanted it. Like it was an amusement ride or something. Like I'm just... Oh, my God, Geordie Shore. What a time. Yeah. Love that show. Yeah, same. Love that show. I loved it. And I actually follow a lot of them still. And it's just crazy to see how they've all got kids now.
I still watch the new season with their kids.
No, I don't watch. I feel like it's just not. I want to remember that show for what it was, like just messy, wild shit.
Yeah, it's a different kind of messy, wild, I guess. It's more. Now it's like internet wars kind of like. But like Gaz came back and he hadn't filmed for years.

Chapter 8: How does Jamie plan to adapt her career after relocating?
Like, you could fully just, like, connect with influencers online
or people that might be in Athens or nearby. I think that the expat community is growing, but I think, yeah, definitely from a content creator standpoint, most content creators in Greece are Greek.
Yeah.
And so their content is in Greek. So I think I'm like starting a bit of like, there's definitely content creators that speak English, but they're just probably not on the same like platform yet.
Yeah.
But it could be very different in like 20 years. Maybe everyone will start moving to Greece.
Maybe.
Yeah. Well, they're building like a smart city in Athens.
Whoa.
