Chapter 1: What is the main topic discussed in this episode?
Hello, everyone. I'm Dana Perino, along with Emily Campagno, Harold Ford Jr., Jesse Waters, and Greg Gutfeld. It's 5 o'clock in New York City, and this is The Five. Breaking new developments on the frantic search for Nancy Guthrie. Officials confirming that one of the ransom notes sent to the media has a 5 p.m. deadline today. Now, it's unclear what time zone that is.
They also confirmed that the blood found on her Porsche does in fact belong to Nancy Guthrie. Last night, the family made an emotional plea for her safe return. And earlier, the Pima County Sheriff gave some hope that Nancy Guthrie is still alive.
We believe Nancy is still out there. We want our home, our department, the sheriff's department, along with all of our partners at the FBI, have been working around the clock.
And we just want her home and find a way to get to the bottom of all of this.
Jonathan Hunt is standing by in Tucson. He has the latest news update for us. Hi, Jonathan.
Hi, Dana. What we did not get today were answers to the biggest, most important questions.

Chapter 2: What are the latest updates on the search for Nancy Guthrie?
Where is Nancy Guthrie? Who has her under their control right now? What we did get was a lot of new granular detail about the timeline leading up to her disappearance. The fact that she had dinner with family members believed to be her daughter Annabelle. Annie and Annie's husband, Tommaso, on Saturday night. And then this fascinating 41-minute critical time period beginning at 1.47 a.m.
on Sunday. That is when her doorbell camera was disconnected. And then around 2.12, something was captured. They believe it was a person on another camera. What they don't know is where the video from that is. There may not, in fact...
be any video from that moment but the camera detected something and then at 2 28 nancy guthrie's pacemaker that she wears disconnected from her apple watch and her iphone the so the assumption obviously is that is the point at which she was taken from her home but the big question who has her the sheriff says no answers to that listen at this time
We have not identified a suspect or a person of interest in this case. We are working our best to do that. But to be clear, we have nobody of interest or any suspects that you would consider a prime suspect. I wouldn't say anybody's ruled out yet, because what if I rule you out and then later I learn something else? No.
Now, you'll remember that earlier in the week, the sheriff's department said they were releasing the crime scene at the home. They had done their work there. Well, that turned out not to be the case because less than 24 hours yesterday evening, they went back to the house, enforced sheriff's deputies, border patrol agents with canine units and FBI agents.

Chapter 3: What new evidence has been found regarding Nancy's disappearance?
They took more items from the house, including what looked to us like some sort of computer terminal or monitor, perhaps, wrapped in brown paper. They put it into a car. It was driven away. So certainly something happened yesterday that led them to go back to the house and take another look at it.
And then we have the question of these ransom notes, which are still not fully authenticated by officials, but they say they are taking them seriously. And the FBI agent in charge today spoke directly to those potential kidnappers.
Chapter 4: How do the hosts interpret the emotional plea from Nancy's family?
Listen. To anyone that may be involved. Do the right thing.
This is an 84-year-old grandma. This is an 84-year-old grandma that needs vital medication for her well-being. You still have the time to do the right thing before this becomes a much worse scenario for you.
Please return Nancy home. So you mentioned that deadline mentioned in the ransom note, Dana, 5 p.m. Now, we assume that by that they mean Arizona time, not Eastern time. That's an assumption. But if they did indeed mean Arizona time, we are less than two hours now from that deadline. The FBI and the sheriff would not go into any detail what the threat was of what action might be carried out
if that deadline is missed. But clearly, it's a very significant time coming up, Dana.
Jonathan Hunt, thank you so much. And we'll get some thoughts from around the table here. Jesse Waters, what do you think is happening here?
I have no idea. No one knows. Savannah doesn't even know. At one point during the video last night, she said, mom, please come home if you can. So we don't know if we're dealing with a kidnapping, a hoax. We don't know anything. Right now, they're just looking for proof of life. Without proof of life, you have nothing.
And they're not going to wire all this money to a Bitcoin account if they don't know she's alive. I don't understand the motive, because if it's about money, okay, why would you go to TMZ? Why would you make it such a huge spectacle? It's almost like the people that allegedly kidnapped this mother wanted it to go national.
Because, you know, if you were to kidnap somebody that didn't have a famous daughter... who couldn't contact the president of the United States that couldn't bring the FBI into the scene. You just probably go to anonymous wealthy family and do it cleanly. The blood indicates because the blood goes from the house all the way out to the driveway and then stops.
Maybe the blood stops once you get into the car. That means there was a violent struggle and that she resisted. I hope she didn't pass away after they'd kidnapped her. And we're just praying that she's OK, because that would be so sad. It looks professional, though, because they go in and they disarm the cameras. We don't know even if the person was in the house.

Chapter 5: What insights do officials have about the ransom notes?
I hope they're right. Not for me, but for the country. Because if I do a great job, that means the country is doing well.
And sorry, Democrats, President Trump says he is aging in reverse.
I feel great. I mean, physically and mentally, I feel like I did 50 years ago.
I'll have what he's having. Harold, Benjamin Button, what do you think about him compared to, honestly, good old George Washington?
Yeah, I think the president, I wish him the best, but he's nowhere close to George Washington saved the country and Abe Lincoln, President Lincoln, saved the country again. But I hear it with the president. Everyone wants to be on that mountain. He has every right to talk that way. He projects, as he always does, confidence. and strength. He looked good. He sounded good.
I thought Tom did a really, really good job with the interview. You would not know, and I think Tom was trying to say some of these things, you would not know that some of the polling and some of the elections in the last few months suggest that everyone's not feeling all of the president's positivity and all of his the confidence he feels about the economy.
I hope the second and third quarter of the of this year that all the things that are to come from the president's spending bill, he calls it the big, beautiful bill, that it begins to spread all across the country and spread to middle class Americans and hardworking Americans trying to graduate into the middle class.
But all the polling right now, again, I don't I don't think polling today suggests where we're going to be in November, but You either you're a fool to overread polls today and you're you're even dumber to not look at the polls and say maybe we should learn something from this. And the best poll we have are elections. And we had an election in November and just won just a few a few days ago.
And the country's voting on the issue of their their wallets and affordability. And I pray the president focuses on this more, because if he does, he's right. Every American wins. If he finds his way on Mount Rushmore, that means the country will be flush in opportunity, flush in cash. Schools will be better. Crime will be down. And frankly, Russia and China will be muted. And I want that.

Chapter 6: What are the implications of the deadline mentioned in the ransom note?
So I think that because he dominates the conversation, he will get a mega rating and it will be to a broader audience. And it just shows that when when you have a president pass up this opportunity and then them tell you that Joe Biden is running circles behind the scenes at the White House and he's more energetic than ever. Don't believe them. That interview is the smartest one to do.
Yes.
Yes. What are your thoughts? My thoughts. Thank you. I think the polls that you mentioned are the price that you pay for tough decisions. There was a Marist poll that said something like 65 percent of the public think Trump went too far with ICE actions. which you have to ask, like, how can you go too far deporting child rapists? How does public opinion end up reflecting that?
And, you know, of course, the environment, you know, the media, the Democrat, the extreme left of the Democrats created an environment for conflict and chaos. And the media swallowed it up. The second part. Ice is a lot like tariffs. Trump always takes the toughest position, but he never picks a position that he can't dial back. And that goes hand in hand. I would call it extreme flexibility.
Dana, you're aware of that. I've seen you in Pilates. Dems are always doing irreversible things. You know what I mean? Destroying cities, chopping off, you know, breasts of kids. Can't go back from that. But in this case, Trump, if Trump had gone like only 50 percent, you know, intensity on deporting child rapists, they'd still be screaming at him. It would be the same.
So instead, he just goes, I will take go as far as I can. And then I will dial back to a position that I'm really happy with, which could be 75 percent. And the media and the Democrats think that they actually won. It's and it's a face saving maneuver for them while he gets what he needs. I still love the fact that the Dems think they won with getting Tom Homan.
I mean, you can't ask for a better outcome.
Jesse, I'm not making an analogy to this, but a lot of independent voters or unique viewers that hadn't seen too much of President Trump, they saw his reaction after Butler and, you know, fight and getting up and that strength. A lot of people were moved to support him out of sheer respect and admiration for that situation under pressure.
And the question is, so in this unique audience, will it sway a lot of people who might have been bombarded by sort of alarmist headlines from the left, but then see someone who is Has a great stamina and is very engaging and talks eloquently and smartly about all of these topics that other people have been trying to spin for them.

Chapter 7: What theories are being discussed about Nancy's potential kidnapping?
I would lean into that and I would say, God put me here. I wasn't supposed to be here. So just let me do my thing. I have to take issue with Harold Ford Jr. Yes, we have Lincoln. Yes, we have Washington. I don't know if you know this, but Newt Gingrich has now ranked Donald Trump third of all time greatest presidents. Did you not know that? I didn't know. I disagree with him.
OK, I'm just saying that's out there. And he's a historian. He wrote a book about if the South had won the Civil War. Wow. I'd be sitting here with you, I guess. Oh, my gosh. No offense, Harold. Scott Pelley. This is what Scott Pelley asked Joe Biden at one of these sit down network interviews. You're in pretty good shape, huh? That's a question. How about this one from Pelly?
You've had a string of legislative successes recently. How did an old man do it? I mean, so, like, to go from that and then to go from this, it's just, it's night and day. It's like following Greg out of the locker room. I mean, it's just, it's an easy comparison. That's what you want. What does that mean? You know what that means, Greg.
I have no idea. I don't know what that means.
Yeah. I'll explain it to you in the break. And how could you not invite me to Pilates, Dana?
All right, guys, coming up, Lord help us, Kamala is revamping her brat army.
Yeah.
Mamala's online army is getting a reboot. The failed Veep is reviving her dormant Kamala HQ troll account on X, which is owned by Elon Musk.
Madam Vice President, what's going on with Kamala HQ?

Chapter 8: How do the hosts respond to the investigation's developments?
You're in trouble. Nothing real about that guy at all. No, I'm kidding. I hate you.
Yeah.
All right. Coming up, Scott Besant. Keep it as cool while Mad Maxine acts a fool.
Would you believe me when I tell you you're the king of my dreams?
I'm dreaming.
President Trump's silent assassin, Treasury Secretary Scott Besson, keeping his cool during a heated congressional hearing on the economy, not letting Mad Maxine Waters, no relation, get the best of him.
Reclaiming my time. Reclaiming my time. Mr. Chair, will you let him know that when I ask him to have his time, he took out the housing stock. 10 and 20 million immigrants look at the housing stock of working Americans, and can you maintain some level of dignity? General Laban's time has expired.
No, my time has not expired.
I'm asking you to do your responsibility as Secretary of the Treasury. Stop covering for the President. Stop being his flunky. Work for the American people. Don't be a cover-up for a mob.
