Chapter 1: What is the main topic discussed in this episode?
Hello, everyone. I'm Emily Campagno, along with Jessica Tarloth, Jesse Waters, Dana Perino, and Tyrus. It's 5 o'clock in New York City, and this is The Five. An Iranian drone hitting close to the U.S. consulate in Dubai, striking a parking lot next to the building. All personnel are accounted for and the fire has been extinguished. This comes as the U.S.
closes three separate American embassies in the region. Last hour, sirens could be heard in Tel Aviv. Let's go right to Trey Yanks, who is there in Tel Aviv with the latest. Trey.
Emily, good afternoon. Sirens were sounding across central Israel today. Last hour, another barrage of Iranian ballistic missiles fired toward this country. We know at one location that we went to, you could see the shrapnel aftermath. Seven people there were injured, mostly lightly. As this conflict develops, the Israelis are continuing to go after Iranian leadership.
And today they struck Iran's Supreme Council building just south of the capital of Tehran. And Israeli officials say that they killed Individuals who are Iranian officials who were counting the votes to determine who would be the next supreme leader of Iran.
There's a joint effort underway by the United States and Israel to go after not just the leadership, but also the missile launching positions that are causing this significant damage. to the central and northern part of Israel. When we arrived at this site today, there were hundreds of children in the street.
They were celebrating the Jewish holiday of Purim, and Israeli officials say it was a miracle that no one was killed.

Chapter 2: What happened with the Iranian drone strike near the U.S. consulate in Dubai?
Now, as the Israelis are looking east to this incoming fire, they're also looking north at the Iran-backed Lebanese militant group Hezbollah. Iran's largest proxy that continues to launch rockets and drones over the border. The Israelis responding overnight with more strikes against the Lebanese capital of Beirut, striking the Lebanese stronghold of Dakhia.
This is a neighborhood in the southern part of Beirut where Hezbollah launches many of their operations from. It's a coordination hub. And the Israelis say they are looking to send a message to terrorists across the Middle East that if they get involved in this war, they will be eliminated.
Emily. Trey, thank you and stay safe. And now to President Trump earlier today, boasting about how the U.S. strikes have largely, quote, knocked out Iran's military.
Watch. They have no Navy. It's been knocked out. They have no Air Force.
It's been knocked out.
No, I might have forced their hand.
And Secretary of State Marco Rubio delivering an epic smackdown to critics before briefing Congress on the strikes. Iran is run by lunatics, religious fanatic lunatics. They have an ambition to have nuclear weapons. They intend to develop those nuclear weapons behind a program of missiles and drones and terrorism that the world will not be able to touch them for fear of those things.
And this is the weakest they've ever been. Now is the time to go after them. The president made the decision to go after them, take away their missiles, take away their navy, take away their drones, take away their ability to make those things so that they can never have a nuclear weapon. That's why the president made this decision. Dana, successful messaging indeed.
And do you see this operation as being successful, too? Well, I mean, yes, so far. And I think that even actually the president and Rubio are the ones saying, let's just take a beat, guys. This is we're in this for the long haul. And I don't know how long the haul will be. And they're not putting a timeline on it. And I think that's correct. I do think that Rubio is an excellent communicator.

Chapter 3: How are Israeli forces responding to Iranian missile attacks?
And that's what some people today are saying. Well, how do you define that? I think Rubio got closer to that today, although I could pick amongst all of them and say, I agree with that. I agree with that. And if you want to talk about a forever war, how about the one that started in 1979? OK, so we could we could go back through all of that.
At the same time, you are dealing with the fact that Iran is not only ruled by religious lunatics. They are harboring terrorists. The leader of Al Qaeda today, right now, is alive and living in Tehran. Now, I don't think he was at any of those meetings where everybody went down. But who were they protecting? Who were they giving comfort to? Al Qaeda. So there's that.
And I believe the other problem is that Iran, having taken a beating last summer, didn't take a lesson. Right. They said, well, I guess we'll just keep going. And Witkoff last night on Hannity says they came into the meeting last week and said, we don't care what you do. We have enough material right now for 11 nuclear weapons. or nuclear bombs.
So Iran is basically saying, now that they have the fact that their leadership is decimated, they just want to burn it all down. They're like, if we're going down, all of you are going down with us, and that's why you see them attacking everyone else. But they are definitely backed into a corner. They...
I think the Iranians are hoping that Trump and Netanyahu will back down and that they can have some sort of way to survive. What I gather from what the president and the secretary of state and secretary of war have said is that that's not going to happen. Jesse, you've been covering this alongside Dana since that first Saturday. What are your thoughts on how this has been unfolding?
Well, we're crushing them. And you're hearing people say, oh, well, the attack wasn't imminent. Why would you wait for an Iranian attack to be imminent so you can justify it to Democrats? These guys were nuking up. Trump's not going to wait around. He had a window. They had a meeting for breakfast, and he took the shot. You can't allow Iran to blackmail the global economy.
Look at little Rocket Man. Look at what he's done in Asia. Imagine a Muslim little Rocket Man, what he could do in the Middle East. No bueno. And you'd have a nuclear arms race in the Middle East. Their ballistic missiles can already hit Europe. A couple more years, they're going to be able to hit the east coast of the United States. And China finances the missile program.
It is incredibly expensive and dangerous to defend against these missiles. And then you have the terror proxies from Beirut to Baghdad. We all know how that went down. They constantly interrupt the free flow of oil through the strait. It jacks up prices. It jacks up premiums. It boosts inflation. And China buys all the cheap sanctioned oil.
That's not going to happen anymore, because what we've done here is now with Venezuela and Iran, we've basically tipped over to petro dictatorships, both proxies of Russia and Iran. It weakens both of those countries. And we now control almost the entire economy. World oil market.

Chapter 4: What is President Trump's stance on Iran's military capabilities?
I played trivial pursuit. It's pretty easy to figure out during the last administration. The world was allowed to run buckshot wild. And what president is doing is autocorrect. And all these emboldened things, they are used to what they're they invested a lot to get those protests here in America to get those people. We had wide open borders.
We don't know who's here, but we do know that there is a concentrated effort to downplay everything that this administration does right here at home. So we all should be. looking, watching around because we don't know who's in our country and we to get information. We have to really pay attention to what is coming when you hear Rubio speak, who I think is handling this magnificently.
The president, he's not he's going to give you answers. What I'm concerned with is how much of the American people are going to get actual information based off the way the media is just initial reaction is. You know, they're just the ex-girlfriend who everything you do is wrong instead of talking about what we need to talk about.
Jessica, later on in the show, we're going to talk about the Democrat elected officials' reactions and statements about this. But I wanted to ask you about sort of your initial thoughts of all of that incredible footage of those liberated Iranian women who are cheering and celebrating in the streets. It's the first step of many and a long road ahead.
But I just wanted to get your reflections on what feels like just an unfathomable joy, a pure joy.
Absolutely. And the soccer team in particular, you know, it's very exciting and they fought hard for this. Hundreds of thousands of people have died over time, 30,000 in the last month since we really started. you know, loading up our military capacity in the region. And President Trump said help is on the way. And I hope that this is the help.
I would love to know more about what the plan is to make sure that you do have a free Iran going forward. They have plenty of religious lunatics who are standing in line to take over. You know, we can blow them up every morning at their meeting. I assume they're going to stop having those meetings. But there are a lot of them there.
I do want to push back on what Tyrus just said about, you know, the media questioning whether we took Israel's lead in doing this as being a knock on President Trump's manhood. They're following the facts. They listened to Secretary Rubio yesterday and he cleaned up those comments today.
But they also know about the briefing that the Pentagon gave on Sunday where they directly refuted the story coming out of the White House. And they told congressional staffers. that it wasn't that Iran was going to attack us. It's that if Iran got attacked by somebody else, then they were going to attack us and that somebody else was Israel. Those are just the facts on the ground.

Chapter 5: What are the implications of U.S. and Israeli military operations against Iran?
I think what happened was, respectfully, Jessica, is that when they had this meeting in the morning when the entire leadership goes out in the open, you had to strike immediately. And the plan was with the Israelis, they were going to launch the first decapitation strike, which would then cause Iran to respond.
And knowing that, that Iran was going to respond to the decapitation strike, we had to go in right then. That's what happened. And that's the opportunity that the president took.
I agree. I don't think that we're saying different things. I'm saying it is less clean and it was not clean out of Secretary Rubio's mouth yesterday, certainly. And he was very frustrated visibly today when the same reporter who had asked him yesterday had to follow up today about it. And Netanyahu in his interview with Sean Hannity last night had to play clean up about it as well.
I was pretty clear about what happened when I saw the full press briefing that Rubio gave. If you just look at the clip, you can have that impression.
It's not like scheduling. I watched the briefing and I told you about it yesterday.
You told me disinformation. That's why I had to do my own research. All my fault. Sorry, guys. All right, guys, coming up next, Democrats and the liberal media seem to be rooting for failure in Operation Epic Fury. That's next.
