Part of the time that you beat yourself up for not being enough and doing enough isn't because you're some failure that needs to hack her way out and find a way to do things quicker. It's because the things and the expectations that you're setting for yourself are literally, humanly, physically impossible. It's so humbling. And there is no moral prize, I promise you. There is no moral prize waiting for you to be the woman that does it all herself. Hire someone. Hire someone. Ask for help. Reduce your expectations of yourself. Communicate to other people what you can and can't do. There is no prize waiting for you to be the woman that just does it all. Let go.

good fucking morning welcome to the florence given show i have finally got a new rug to replace that ugly gray thing that i had in my previous podcast episodes i got this from rugs.com this is not an ad okay but rugs.com if you want to sponsor the florence given show hit me up i bought this on rugs.com it's beautiful it's pink it's very much like the other persian rugs that i have in my apartment i've gone persian rug crazy okay if you've been following my instagram stories you will have seen that i've bought maybe four persian rugs and a runner In the last month, my apartment has really boring floors. And so I want to make it look cozy and pink and inviting. So I've gone Persian rug nuts. And I literally sang a goodbye song to my rug.

the ugly gray rug because I wanted to release it and let it go. I just needed that rug to absorb the sound in the room because this room is super echoey. I haven't got much furniture in here yet. So welcome to the Florence Given show. We have a new pink fucking rug. And it should not be underestimated how happy this pink rug makes me. It's more looking like the bohemian old Hollywood art deco jungle of my dreams in here day by day. In the rest of my apartment too. This is the expression room. I've been writing in here. Honestly, it's stressing me out not knowing how to feng shui this room because this is the light source. But it makes it very awkward for me to put furniture anywhere else because I do like doing my podcasts out on the floor.

So I'm figuring it out right now in here. Oh wow, that sunlight's on my belly. That's so healing. Also one day I am going to create a collection of teacups and saucers. And I want you to be obsessed with them, okay? I want you to be obsessed. I'm going to design the most beautiful teacups and saucers that you've ever seen in your life. If you've followed me for a while, I've been doing this for like 10 years online now, you will know how obsessed and how iconic this leather print teacup and saucer is. I've just, I've had it forever. And... It's perfect. But I want to design my own. I've always wanted to design my own in my illustrations as well that I draw of women. I draw them with a cigarette and a teacup and saucer.
Florence Given 4:19
I actually stopped drawing women smoking cigarettes three years ago when I had like my spiritual awakening 2.0. And I was like, I don't even drink. I don't smoke. Why am I drawing women smoking cigarettes? Right. And then I've now come full circle and I'm like, fuck it. Every girl needs a cig in her hand. Every girl needs a cig in her hand. Are we regressing? Are we healing? Florence Given girls have cigs back in their hands. Are we regressing? Are we healing? I don't know, but I like it. I just feel like the girls need cigarettes back in their hands in my illustrations, even though I don't smoke. It just makes sense. It's more like fuck it energy. It's also just looks sexy in the illustrations. OK, so I am in a season of my life that I'm calling Operation Delegation.
Florence Given 5:14
OK, I have been in this season of my life for about the last year where I am learning to accept and welcome help, delegation and support in my life, in my business. in my social life in everything i'm just sort of being open to no longer being my scrappy diy self i have done a lot as a business woman as an entrepreneur as an author as an artist as a woman by myself i've come very far by myself and i've not done all of this by myself
