For Gary, the word "resurrection" had once belonged to Christianity - distant and beyond his reach. But when he sat with its true meaning - to restore - his internal landscape shifted. The crucifixion, he explains, is a map: the horizontal path represents a life of attempting to change circumstances without changing the self, while the vertical path is the path of spiritual evolution, where the Soul wakes up to something larger than the personality - its own Immortal nature.
Resurrection, Gary says, is that waking. It is the before and the after - the moment a Soul, broken open by the curriculum of the Earth School, is restored to who they truly are.
