Chapter 1: What inspired Hulvey's spiritual journey and music transformation?
saw a man with six infused vertebraes in his back healed right in front of me saw a woman demon possessed healed right in front of me and i'm like what is going on on that trip i heard jesus speak to my heart and he said follow me i broke down crying because my whole life i always tried to get jesus to follow me i always tried to be enough i tried to invite jesus in my heart a hundred times and then i realized that his grace was calling after me he wanted me to come after him and so i took
that and it just bled into the music. I believe that that experience in Memphis marked my heart because I could never unsee what I saw. I could never take away the experience that I had with Jesus in that room. And so my music could never be the same.
Well, think about it. What did he say? Follow me. Like you were born in the spirit when you called upon him.
Bro, you're bringing clarity to my own journey right now, bro. I hope you understand that.
I pray that that's all him and I'm not misguiding you.
No, no, no, you're not. This is clear. That's lovely, George. I love it for a real gift to be around.
That was awesome.
That's a very good question. I love you guys.

Chapter 2: How did Hulvey collaborate with Ciara and what was the controversy about?
You've given me something to think about for a while.
I had to walk out on one yesterday, didn't I, RJ? You had to walk out on a podcast? No, no, no, no. I was on Ruslan's yesterday. Yeah? And he brought up when I worked with Ciara, but he... Like the two-step Ciara? Yeah. Yeah, I did a song last year. It was amazing. But it was really funny because he brought up something that fans found controversial.
And I spoke genuinely, but that genuine answer walked me out of... He wasn't trying to set a trap for me, but it was really hilarious because what he said, RJ was like, oh my gosh, that could have went south really quick.
Did you bounce in a bad way or did you like...
I stayed in the interview. I was saying my answer luckily pulled me out of what could have been a trap question that he didn't realize he was asking because he asked about a line that she said in the song that fans found controversial.
I'm so sorry to get into this controversy.
No, it's hilarious.
Why would you set us up like this? Hey, guys, welcome back to the George Janko Show. We're just starting this off. This is a crazy turn. We went from a prayer to gossip. If this ain't church, I don't know what it is.
uh that's kind of crazy wait what happened so ruslan is uh it was one of my boys and he was on the avengers episode he has his own podcast um he just did the blessed summit uh blessed god summit um he's he is a powerhouse bro like um he is something special and for those of you guys let me i'm so sorry we just jumped into it i didn't even do a good intro we got holvey here bro

Chapter 3: Was Hulvey always a Christian artist and how did his faith evolve?
Religious leaders.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. So I just keep it moving, bro. When they throw the shade, the best way you could go about it is pray for them and just move on. And ask God to not let the world change your heart. Can we time travel back to when you even picked up the pen to write Alter?
Yes. Yes. So, bro, first off, shout out to my A&R Ace Harris. He produced and he wrote the hook of Alter and sent it to me. Really? Yeah. When I was writing my verse, I just remember the first thing I could say is all I can say is holy. Amen. It's the first thing I could get out of my mouth. And I doubted it. I was like, man, this feels kind of slow. Is this swaggy enough? Is this dope enough?
And Forrest was like, bro, this is the part you need to keep. You're tripping. All I can say is holy is it. Forrest Frank. Yeah, Forrest Frank.
You guys knew each other before the song.
Yeah, we did No Longer Bound together. That was our first song together. And then he hopped on the song with me on the altar.
how did you we'll pin the forest conversation we'll get back to that but please continue with the yeah so i mean bro i'm writing my verse and i'm just in my head i then go to a show in atlanta georgia or athens georgia at university of georgia and then um i drive back to the studio at 2 a.m to finish this song and i get back in the studio i'm in my head and i just felt like the lord like picked me up during this recording session and gave me the lyrics that i needed
And then when I got to that part, like carrying bucks to shame, father, I'm saying your name so far from it. It just felt like, like the spirit started flowing through every line. And, um, and that song got done that night. And right when I thought I had no more time, it was 2 AM and I had to finish this record. And God just gave it to us, man. So I'm so thankful. Shout out to Ace.
Shout out to Forest. I had no idea the song was going to be what it is. Like, it's crazy, man. It's about to go gold, like, in the summer. I can't even believe it. Wow, congratulations. I'm from Brunswick, Georgia. This doesn't make any sense to me. I'm like, what's going on?

Chapter 4: What challenges does Hulvey face in the music industry and how does he overcome them?
But, bro, I ain't going to lie, I have my wife right by my side. And I think... Listen, like I bring my wife and my two boys with me on this tour. 32 shows. They've been on the tour bus. And I think God is teaching me that. Y'all know that verse. It's like there's nothing. There's no temptation that he can't pull you out of. Like there's always a way out.
Yeah, it's like there's no temptation that is uncommon to man, which means he's been through it.
Yeah, it's like I think that when I look at my life, I'm like, no, God, you've given me every way to stay pure. And I think having my wife and my two boys is protecting me from those obstacles. I think another one I'm fighting through and I'm learning and I'm growing, and shout out to Lecrae for helping me through this, is just the bitterness of the music industry.
Because I watched John Bellion's episode, I mean... Man, it's really dark. Like, you know, the deals and the principles, the principles that the music industry adheres to are not the principles I adhere to. And so it's like really tough for me. And you could ask anybody on my tour. There's been nights where I'm just like grieving through the music industry and they pick me up.
I have a team around me lifting me up, encouraging me. Like, hey, man, no man can ruin your career. No man can ruin your life. It's in God's hands. That's what Lecrae just texted me the other night. And so for me, it's like I'm remembering that. And so that's been another challenge.
Can I give you something that I just picked up?
Please, please.
The past two years, I feel like I've been moving at a different frequency. And the one thing that I've changed in my mind is this common thing I've been saying. It's I don't tell God how big my problems are. I tell my problems how big my God is. So when I'm in this industry and it's full of filth, men that are leading me can't even be loyal to their wives. They're terrible to their children.
I'm seeing my surroundings. You either go two steps. You either go, I'm judging them and I don't want to be like them or I'm submitted to them. And believe it or not, both of those options are terrible. And you think those are the two options you have. The next option is be Christ in the room. So when I walk into the room, I go, okay, I get this guy's a billionaire.

Chapter 5: What advice does George give for maintaining faith and integrity in the industry?
There is no confidence like the confidence that God gives you. He lets you learn about yourself like no other. And then when you walk into a room and when your eyes are just on him, you're so confident that you just want to love on everybody around you. It's the best feeling. And I have to give you your flowers because we were talking about this.
Your music has been the reason why when I'm in the gym, I don't feel like I have to listen to secular music. I can listen to your music. And I'm even more motivated than when I listen to secular music because I can truly feel the spirit behind your words. So hearing you say like, oh, you're just like, I asked the Lord to fill me up with the words and he just came through me.
It's like, I genuinely feel that in your music that like, you know, you listen to a song and it's so good and the lyrics are so good. You feel like you can praise him better. Yes. And your music allows me to do that.
That means so much, y'all. Thank you.
You're like David in the wilderness singing. That's good.
That's what it feels like.
Yeah. We all have the spirit of God, and it's cool to watch him be alive in all of us because then it just, when we put the glory on him, we activate his character, and we can see him more. Okay, let's time travel back even more. Sure. Your childhood, what was your childhood like? Dude. When did you find God? What was your life like?
Best two parents ever. amazing bonnie and mike my mom and dad best two parents ever um i have two brothers bonnie and mike bonnie and mike sounds like a movie it sounds like a movie like bonnie and clyde man let me tell you man like i grew up you know um in a trailer grew up uh i was telling you before the show i mean i used to put my ear to the vent in the floor to get ac you know what i mean so
Not a lot of money. My parents worked as a and they still do as a pair of pros at school with special needs kids. They have huge hearts. And growing up, I just was infiltrated with the love of Jesus every day. Not in some perfect way. We all have our flaws, but like. My parents are so genuine and they never chase money once in their life. They've never chased anything but him.

Chapter 6: How does Hulvey approach collaboration and setting boundaries with other artists?
No, but it's clear that you are led and convicted by the Spirit. Like, it's clear as day. And so... Now you're kind of like where you are at, you know, because you're getting offers to work with certain artists and opportunities. So how do you decide what artists you want to work with? Do you kind of tell them like, hey, this is what I'm about. This is the line I'm willing.
This is the line I'm not willing to cross.
Yeah. You know, maybe this has just been God's grace, but so far I don't feel like people have crossed lines. And if they do, it kind of feels as if it just naturally doesn't work out. I feel like I haven't had to have I'm sure it's coming, but I haven't had to have the blunt convo of like, hey, bro, like what you're saying on this song does not align with my heart.
I feel like just the rooms he's been able, I've been in, it's either a, I'm able to just be a light and maybe we work on something, but it doesn't come out or be like, it does work, you know, but maybe, maybe that's just because I do make a lot of music out of like my room at our house.
Like right now, like I just, I've been in like this like place of intimacy with the Lord of just making it out homegrown type of thing. Um, but yeah, no, I do think that time's probably coming of like, okay, bro, I don't think I can do this one, but I am very selective in the first place.
I don't, I don't, I try not to hop into things too prematurely because I don't want to be in a spot where I have to like tell somebody whose heart was so genuine, like, bro, like. I don't want to be that type of guy.
I don't think you should be, and I'll explain to you why. Remember when you were making music, you still had the heart for God, but this is what some Christians don't understand. God will meet you where you're at. So when they're writing music that in our hearts would be like, nah, that's not me.
We don't know what's going on and where he was positioned 10 years ago so that he probably had more growth in his life than we did in ours. And we're sitting here judging because we think that we're holier than this person. But if this guy is talking about things like, for example, if he's rapping about his his life and then we're like, oh, that's uncomfortable. That's not what God is like.
Well, God was with me during the situation. So like it's hard to play God. And now if you're doing music and it's your lane, my question to you would be, are you not wanting to do it with these people because you're afraid of what the audience would say or what God would say?

Chapter 7: What role do mentors and humility play in Hulvey's personal and professional life?
Honestly, that's what I was speaking.
Yeah.
I got off stage.
And I used to be like, in my mind, be like, well, dude, this industry is so filthy, bro. Like, why would God want me here? Or the music industry is so corrupt. I mean, look, they're praising Satan. You know why? Because the enemy conquered this land. You know what I'm doing now? I'm walking to their land, and I'm going to take it over.
Bro.
I have confidence. I'm like, yo, you forgot that my God created this industry, right? My God created this talent.
That is literally it, bro.
Yeah, so I'm walking around with confidence that even if the whole industry is like, nah, you ain't it. You can't be coming here with God. I'll be like, that's so funny. Give me a few years. Let's see what Jericho's walls are going to be coming down around here.
Dude, you know, I actually, what's crazy, I got to play Rolling Loud and the biggest rap festival ever.

Chapter 8: How does Hulvey balance fame, family, and staying true to God?
I referenced he could possibly be going to hell, which was saying he was going to hell. And, uh, I felt so bad, and me and him are tight to this day. And now he has dreams about my career and texts me, and that's my brother. But literally, like, and he's definitely going to be watching this because I know he's a fan of you guys. But it's so funny because, like— That was me.
He did that to you, bro. I'm talking directly to you. I'm so sorry, Seth. I love you, bro.
He listens to Alter while he's crying. He's like—
I'm listening to this actually because I'm still trying to forgive him. No, bro. Literally, I remember back then just kind of being in like that judgmental place thinking I was in a right spot. But then the Lord gut checked the living crap out of me in college and was just like, dude, like. you have an opportunity to meet people where they're at in a whole new way.
And that's what I started doing. And bro, I saw way more fruit. I saw people getting saved. Like my friends getting saved because I was able to humble myself, realize that I was a piece of piece of trash without him. And then to solve them grow from it. So yeah, bro. Uh, thankful for the times I fell on my face because, uh, now I'm falling in grace.
How much peace and joy did you gain from that? That mind shift?
Oh, my gosh. Immense. Like, it was immense. It was literally night and day. I felt like a new man, honestly, because I was able to then pray for my friends and be able to empathize with my friends. Like, writing their names in my journal in private with the Lord in my secret time. Instead of, like, just trying to preach at them, I'm literally, like, warring for them in private.
That did a lot for me. And I've never been the same since. I can't even have the same heart. Because I grew up around the people that would be like that, and I didn't want to be like that. A lot of people are like that.
A lot of people that...

Chapter 9: What is Hulvey's view on judging others and personal growth in faith?
i remember the lord would like sit me down and he would say so sternly go apologize right now to my daughter right now very stern loving but like hey bro you're not going to be mean to my daughter and i just love how he's like he holds us accountable bro like there's no excuse it puts you in check it's like if you love your wife if you love your wife
At what point do you start taking advantage of her? Just because you have a ring on your finger, she's growing old, she has your kids. And now you're like, well, she's mine. She's not going to go anywhere. But it's like, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. She's not just yours. She's the Lord's. So like how you're respecting that gift. Why would he want to give you anything else?
And also it's like, how disrespectful are you that one day you would cry and be like, oh, I'm going to marry her. And just a few years later, you're taking advantage of the same gift that you used to cry for. you're a bad person. Like, you need to reflect and gather yourself.
You know what I mean? It keeps you accountable. For the men out there, get with God now. Yeah. So that you don't start acting crazy to your spouse, bro. Because I'm tired of these stories, man. I'm so sick of it, bro. Hearing all this mess. Yeah. The way people's wives are getting treated. Like, bro.
Do you ever see that meme where it's like a boss is yelling at the husband and then the husband yells at the wife and then the wife yells at the kid and then the kid yells at the cat? That shook me, bro. I looked at that and I was like, yo, that's so real, dude.
That is such a real, yeah.
It's an energy, not new age, but it's an energy.
I had to realize like, bro, like my mood, even with the music industry or things I go through, I had to remember like, oh shoot, this does affect my wife. Like, even if I think it's just me dealing with it, we're one. So she's dealing with everything I'm dealing with and I'm dealing with everything she's dealing with. People forget that. It's not siloed. It's together.
You reflect each other.

Chapter 10: How does Hulvey's music impact listeners and his community?
Yes.
And you know what he said to me? He goes, because you walk around like you're a king. Why don't you walk around like you're a servant? And so during the times where I'm aggravated, instead of being like, oh, I'm a king and everything's on me. And I just go, okay, I'm not in charge. I'm a server. So let me start serving around me. And I don't worry about the outcome because that's for my God.
And me, I worry about the now in the presence of being concerned with my loved ones today. And once I changed that, bro, they started telling me I was different. And I was like, oh, I do feel that difference. And it is an unbelievable change of life experience when you remove the weight off you. Because I think when I see somebody going through a bad day, I now change my perspective.
If somebody cuts me off or somebody's on their way to work and they're getting aggravated, I don't just lose my mind because this guy disrespected me. I will literally look at it as like, oh, man, that guy, he's hurting really bad right now. How can I serve this guy?
And once I go to the guy who's trying to hurt me and I serve him, bro, watching their face, literally just kind of like try to calculate, wait, I just cussed this guy out or I just tried to steal from him or I tried to do something and he's trying to serve me. It literally just throws them into like a spin and they don't even know how to treat you.
And then they throw back to you what you gave them. Mm-hmm. I don't even really know how to word it because this is what I'm dealing with right now. This is like the... Give him your coat.
Yeah. That's a tough one. Yeah.
But it's freeing. And I've learned this. Everything that God asks you to do is for you. And that is kind of hard to understand because people think that you're doing it for him and then the other people around you. It's actually for you. Totally. Yeah. Even forgiving other people.
But isn't it crazy that then you get like, I don't know about you guys, but for me, like I get in the cycle of I'm doing it for him and I'm only doing it for him. But then I realize how good I feel. And then it's almost like then I'm battling my flesh. I'm like, wait, hold on. Now, am I doing it for him or now am I doing it because I'm realizing that I actually feel better and I and I get more.

Chapter 11: What are Hulvey's current projects and musical influences?
Have you ever heard the term they cuss like fishermen or like sailor men? These people weren't holed up at a level where they're like, oh, these guys are respectful men. So of course they had anger issues.
Of course they had like, I don't know if they had an addiction issue or anything like that, but if they were here, if God came down now, the people he would have chosen to be the Paul and the Peter, we would look at God like, are you sure?
Why don't the disciples wash their hands when they eat? That's what the Pharisees are asking. So, I mean, he definitely got some ragtag dudes.
They said that they were drunken fools. They would just go around partying. Think about that. That's crazy. That's what they would say to them. They were like, oh, all they do is drink and have fun. And it's like. I don't know about you, but if I went to a restaurant and I saw a bunch of people having fun, but one of them had God with them, I think I would.
I think I'm going to check that box off.
I think I would break bread with that one, you know?
Yeah, I want to be over there.
That's so funny. We get there like, so who's going to say grace? I'm just kidding. Just go ahead. Take it. Yeah.
Oh, I bet he played with them all the time and stuff like that.
