And I think a lot of people go, well, who are you gonna get that's better? And I think that sometimes that's a fair argument. But if you just play that game, uh-uh, unless like there's an incredible opportunity for some guy on the open market, you will just keep a coach forever, right?
And I I I think LaFleur I I don't think there's gonna be a team in the league that's more desperate for a win and an individual more desperate for a win this upcoming week than Matt LaFleur against the New York Jets. You y you talk about must win because if you told me that he were to lose this game and listen, the the Jets have some offensive firepower. Like you know, Brees Hall, really good player, Garrett Wilson, really good player, Omar Cooper at a 30-yard catch. Uh the the Oregon tight end. Like the they they got some young, explosive talent that if it goes well, their offensive line is is not bad at all. Like th is this is what coaches always say it's the NFL. You you you look at like when you're playing the Ravens and the Bills, you try to take that week no different than when you're playing the Miami Dolphins.
It's easier to do early in the season than the players are humans. You're playing a 2-12 team. It's like, yeah, I'm not taking it seriously. But I I I I think Matt LaFleur, the brand and the franchise in which he coaches, you can feel it coming. You can feel it simmering. And i it's always easy to play Monday morning quarterback. Um I I just think not kicking that field goal, getting stuffed, and then that 21-point barrage is something you don't shake given that you lost two of, you know, two of your last three or four losses of the season were against the Bears. You had a embarrassing loss around Christmas time against the Baltimore Ravens when Derrick Henry, I think, is still running around Lambeau.
He blew a lead to Denver late in the season. I'm like, all these losses against all these good teams. It's like, well, he's missed some players for injuries. Mm-hmm. Like m Mica's not returning this week. He's not returning the following week, and he's not returning the following week after that. They're hoping they've been saying forever mid-October. I don't think that's a guarantee. Could it be November first? Things change really quickly. And also by the time he comes back, who knows who who else on your team could get injured. So when I look at this situation I would have said a week ago, guys, what what are we talking about?
