Everyone sees me as a football player, but before anything else, I'm human. Every single day, I'm still learning how to live with problems, mistakes, relationships, emotions, ever since I was born. This isn't a normal podcast. Everything here is spontaneous, real, and genuine. Just honest conversations about what it means to be alive. You're listening to Fox Sports Radio. All right, hour two. We got a good one. This hour I'm going to give you everything I got. Last hour is like 90%. I passed up some shots. Didn't pick up my man at half court. This hour is I'm giving you everything I got. So we told you last hour. The Lakers offseason was going to be about number one priority. J.J. Redick and Luka are the franchise.
Re-signing Austin Reeves because you're not going to let him leave and get nothing out of him. You wanted to get a team-friendly deal. Well, they signed a new deal. It's not team-friendly necessarily, but they got him for four years, not five. That's better for not five. But they're going to pay him, on average, $46 million a year. And in a league that doesn't have a ton of guards, he has leverage. Also, Chicago interested, Detroit very interested, so the Lakers locked him up. Now, it won't work against the Lakers cap this year, so they got flexibility. But my take is... Why bring the band back together? Houston gets Van Vliet back. Excellent young players. OKC is going to be better. They had a great draft.
San Antonio is going to be better. Minnesota, I think moving off Randall is going to be better. And I'm not even counting. Golden State had a good night. Denver still got Jokic. So my take it, why are you bringing the band back together? I supported LeBron when he bailed on Cleveland twice. Supported him both times. When he bailed on his best friend D-Wade, didn't call him. I supported LeBron there. LeBron's had all the leverage, and I have always supported him. I even supported drafting Bronny in a terrible draft in the mid-second round. But I wouldn't sign him. Brian Windhorst on Cleveland Radio today said the way the Lakers would be willing to sign him to a big contract if they could then flip him for Jarrett Allen, who's a little redundant as a shot-blocking big in Cleveland because of Evan Mobley.
