Well, Danny Parkins co-host first things first. He uh grew up in Chicago. I mean, Cubs are rolling, White Sox are good. Bears are on fire. Like things are things things are looking up for Danny Parkins, who, you know, he gets a bit suppressed by Nick Wright over there on that show. So we like to bring him in and, you know, like open the open the f dance floor to him. And uh so I I will say I I I said this, that was not a winnable game for Detroit. Missing safeties, multiple O linemen, they're opening a stadium, not a winnable game. Is that um I I said this earlier. I grew up with John Elway, always had good defenses, and then he got Terrell Davis and it was a different John Elway. Lamar can win with Derrick Henry in a great defense.
Even Mahomes has Andy Reid spags. I mean, if you look at Mahomes' Super Bowl passer rating, he has not been great. I've never seen a team defined by one player. Hell, Caleb's great. He's got Ben Johnson. They've got good weapons. I watch Buffalo and I'm like, I'm I'm trying to I don't even know what c what's the comp in basketball. You didn't grow up with Elway. What what do you make of they just feel, despite having good players around them, so dependent on his performance?
I think you're underrating the offensive line in Buffalo. James Cook, you know, Kincaid is a very nice tight end. I love the DJ Moore edition. But there's no question that Josh Allen is their everything. And I have no problem saying that he is the best quarterback in football right now. Like I I love your distinction there. Sometimes when we talk goats, it's about accomplishments. And when we talk best, it should be about talent and scouting it. Right? Like this is the Mahomes era of the NFL. No one could dispute that. He is one of the most talented players I've ever seen. And the guy is 17-4 in the playoffs in his career with 53 touchdowns against 13 turnovers. Like it's it's ridiculous how great Mahomes has been.
Josh Allen's eight and seven in the playoffs, a winning record still very good, with 38 touchdowns against 10 turnovers. So like also an X. Excellent postseason player, but I think what's Allen has done right now to earn that title for me as the best quarterback alive right now is in the body of work of the regular season, where the sample size is the largest. Mahomes hasn't had an MVP caliber regular season the last three years, right? He won it in 2022. Since then, he has been fairly pedestrian in the regular season. Josh Allen has a fifth place MVP finish, a win of MVP. and a third place finish. He has just been the best player consistently over the largest sample recently. So I think Josh Allen is the best player in football, even if we're still in the Mahomes era.
So as a Bear fan for many years you had to look up at the Packers with some uh uh disgust. That they were not only better, but they were fun, they draft quarterbacks right, they were always competent, and I said Matt LaFleur's issue isn't just A losing streak. It's that he now has a reputation.

They can't block. They can't run. He's an offensive coach, and Jordan Love remains wildly inconsistent, albeit talented. Now they're the worst fourth quarter team in the league. He's such a quiet, humble, grateful kid. That LaFleur absorbs all the criticism. That Aaron took a lot of it, you know, through the years. I said if if Monday morning, if the Jets beat Green Bay and the Packers have lost seven straight games, it is my lead. You tell me you know that Packers Chicago and now with Chicago winning, that's even worse for them.
