How did Jarrian Jones and the Jaguars defense bounce back against the Patriots?
Here's Ari and Jones. Um look, what went into a great bounce back ever for you guys on defense today?
Uh it wasn't when we lost last week, it wasn't a physical thing. It was more so what we were doing and uh our MAs and you know what I'm saying, just not being keyed into the details. So this week we harped on there, it was a point of infus emphasis for us and uh we had a great week of practice. I think we knew that we had a great chance of winning the game to Wednesday. Like, you know what I'm saying? When everybody came in Wednesday for practice, that was something we harped on. I think you saw the results of that today.
Well look, I know you guys are extremely proudful in that room and the noise was just going on around you guys and the cornerback rotation and those stuff. But I look up and I see Travis get a pick, I see you get a pick. You guys are getting your hands on the ball. Why were you able to get your hands on the ball today?
I mean we believe in each other. You know, the outside noise, that's all it is. Outside noise. We won't really need nobody to believe in what we can do and this person needs to be doing this, this person needs to be doing this. We're a group, we love each other, we play for each other, you know what I'm saying? We were all bought into that. You know what I'm saying? When you have three, four corners that can play, these are the results that you can get. You everybody's playing the ball, you stay fresh, you know, you have a lot of things going on. So, you know, we don't really pay attention to the outside noise.
The other thing that looked like looked like the physicality on defense was up. Like you guys were tackling well. You were bringing your pads. You talked about running through people, hitting the chest. Just talk about just the the uptick in physicality against the Patriots.
We pride ourselves in uh trying to be one of the most physical violent units in uh in the NFL and we practice that every day. So when they didn't show up last week that that kinda hurt us, that was like a dagger for us. Like that really hurt, you know. So we just needed to get back to playing our brand of football, not trying to be too cute, too pretty and do other things outside of what we're known to do. So I think today our DNA just showed up in a big way.
Well look, next week you get a big challenge, the Cincinnati Bengals. How do you use today and this week of practice to help you get ready for next week?
Well today is what today is. I think when tomorrow comes, that's that's kinda over, it's on to next week. That's kinda what the NFL is. But you know, just doing what we do. You know, we that we know they're a great group. Well we believe we're a great group, you know. So just getting back to doing what we do, I think that'll you know what I'm saying, work in our favor.
Well look, man, enjoy your victory, money. It should be a lot of fun. Yes, sir. God man. Another another day, another tub. Yes, sir.
How did rookie Josh Cameron earn the Jaguars' trust and contribute on offense?
So hey, being a rookie, being uh having an opportunity to jump into rotation, why you've been able to p quickly pick up the offense and contribute?
Uh, I mean I think that just kinda goes back to even before I got drafted here. That was something I was kinda marking myself on, just being a smart guy, uh, that can play multiple positions, can plug and play and just kinda be wherever, also contribute on teams. So, um kinda hit the ground running as soon as I got here, was in our playbook every day, just getting after it and so building that trust with the coaches first and then obviously with Trevor. Um and then that's just kinda a result of what you've kind of seen over the months and Uh just time I've been here for real.
Look, it has to be great that the quarterback depends on you, particularly down in the red zone. The thick of the arms. But then this one today, catching the ball in the middle. Why are you so comfortable catching the ball in the hashes with all the bodies around you?
Yeah, um that's actually funny because I started working that like on the jugs. Like I get like a little pop up because before I just kinda catch jugs with no body pressure around and I saw a video on that, I said let me try to improvise that and start getting kinda used to that.
