But man, he plays he plays his ass off. Or had the opportunity to get more from a mere tool than you might have thought originally when Cal brought him in. Yeah. Yeah, I mean, man, like it's cool to see when you bring people in that just got here not long ago and they get votes for captain. Amir did. Amir was one of those guys. Jelani Tavai was one of those guys. Chris Rodriguez was one of those guys. But Amir is I mean, he's a standard of of professionalism, the way that he treats his body, how early he's in here every single day. Uh doing all the little things. He's an example for a lot of the young players. And every opportunity he's gotten, whether it was in a you know scrimmage when we had our inner squad, whether it was preseason games, whether it was obviously in this past game, he's he's made an impact.

And so uh surprised, I I don't know if I I'd say that because since he came in, like he's had a mindset of I'm gonna help this team. It's not just been like I know oh I'm here to be an older back with a young room and I'm just here for some insurance. Like he's forced us to make him active and to get him on our team you know on the active roster and to be able to play on game day. So surprise no but um pleasantness, absolutely.

So important. Um just making my cut up now for tomorrow morning's meeting and just going through the Browns game again and just seeing how many plays he actually impacted and what he did. Um maybe didn't make always have to make the tackle, but he it was in on a number of those. And just he's so stout. He plays the two gap, you know, whatever gap and a half, like he can play it all. Uh he can Can disrupt if he does need to get into the backfield and pierce things. He had a great play. They had a pin and pull scheme against us early in the game. Eric Murray made the uh tackle in the alley on a nice tackle on our sideline. He he recognized the scheme right away and he actually ran the hump and came all the way around our whole D line to really make the offense a tackle block him to free up Eric.

Um, you know, i if you just go through your normal process and you know a lot of times we have our center kinda peak the defense while listening to the call so we can kinda see what's the defense personnel, how are they aligning? He gets maybe a little bit of a jump start on some of those things, but it's so important that we are looking at the quarterback and seeing his lips and reading it so that we don't mi I mean you're not gonna ever play you're not gonna hear the full thing. It's just not probably possible.
