All right, welcome to this week's week two Ozone Podcast. I'm Jaguar senior writer John Ozier and I'm in the Hyundai Studios. Uh today's interview, this is again the interview uh Friday edition of the Ozone Podcast will be Jaguar's rookie guard, Emmanuel Pregnon. I'm looking forward to that. Also looking forward to talking about Emmanuel to Jaguars analyst, duh Jeff Logaman. Uh Jeff again, thank you for doing this. We'll talk about the game in a little bit. Uh but tell me about Pregnon. We talked a little bit right before we started this. There's some special stuff here.
Yeah, he's a he's a very unique player from the standpoint of it m much like a wide receiver that has great speed. You just can't coach great speed. Well Emmanuel Pregnant. They call him E man, which I think is kind of interesting because you remember when we were growing up as kids, John, we had the He Man dolls. Sure. Oh yeah. Well E Man plays like He Man. That's good. He's one of those big strong dudes and and there's not very many offensive linemen in the National Football League that literally move people like that. You know, there's a lot of stalemates and angle blocks and such. Uh but to have that rare trade of moving people around and the way he finishes. He's a special player. There's there's one guy I think in the league that would probably be a comp.
And that's Quinn Miners for the Denver Broncos, which we'll see this week and he's uh you know, I think a couple time all pro guy.
So he's got that ability.

I mean, not there yet, first game. No, and he's still
got up to
the bottom.
My understanding
is you saw some signs last week of special.
Yeah, he's he's again the whole moving people. Yeah. His balance and pass pro uh was a little bit of a concern for me. That was the one thing I was like, Well, you know, how's he gonna handle the twists and the games and the blitzes and all that? and did remarkably well. There was a couple of things where he was pulling the angles, he got a little bit kinda out of sorts, but uh For a first one out of the gate, I I'd give 'em an A. Right. And I can't Wait and see what's next and you know and you go back. To the whole New Orleans joint practice. I think that was a pivotal moment for this football team because If you're gonna be a head coach, you gotta be a leader and you gotta hold people accountable. And the level of performance that they got in that joint practice wasn't where they wanted it to be.

How did Emmanuel’s speed and moving‑people ability compare to a wide receiver?
Which prompted, hey, put Emmanuel Pregnant in at left guard, move Ezra Cleveland to right guard, and all of a sudden you saw the level of performance go up. John, we may look back on that decision as being maybe the pivotal moment for this entire season. Right.
And for the offen and for an offensive line that again When this group took over it talked about the offensive line Yeah. having to get better. I I thought it did last year. And you're seeing with with Pregnant and Borkature, I know he's not offensive line, but you know what I'm getting at? Physicality is just s you know starting to be the theme there and I I think it's gonna be intriguing to watch that group change over time. Uh Denver. Big game. We sort of saw it last year, how it feels out there. You've played there, yeah. It's uh We'll get into how you think it'll feel, but tell me the key offensively for the Jaguars in this game. Uh Same as December, different. Uh tell me about that dynamic.
Well A little different in that, you know, when they went out there last year in December, they didn't run the ball very well. Right. And they threw the ball incredibly well. I still believe that you have to be able to run the ball because it just it takes all the pressure off of everything. It quiet the crowd. It allows you to to maintain manageable down and distances, whether it's second down or third down. So I'm still a believer in having the ability to run the football, especially with what happened on Monday night. I mean Denver had a hard time stopping the run and Kansas City racked up two hundred twenty
