He turns, he fires for the win. He's got the bucket at the buzzer. River back to Bibby has the open shot. Ladies and gentlemen, up on those feet, put those hands together, and we'll meet tonight starting five for your Sacramento.
Welcome to the Kings Beat Podcast. I am James Ham, Kings Insider for ESPN 1320, the Kings Beat. Joining me this Friday afternoon, we have KCRA3, Sean Cunningham. Sean, how are you?
Good. Uh very patriotic ahead of uh July fourth and what's going to be a very busy little weekend of California Classic and Summer League basketball. Uh but I get to get my I lose my oh Uh how rude. He's stepping all over my intro. All over my intro. I was in a story. No, I'm uh I get to I get to get a little pre-Fourth of July uh celebration going tonight. So I'm looking forward to that. And and one of my favorite pastimes is seeing all of Sacramento lit up in illegal fireworks. It's the tradition that keeps on keeps on going.
It's the gift that keeps on giving, Clark, the whole year long. Uh we of course are also joined by Brandon Nunes from the King's Pulse podcast, something like that. Where? Ho who the what? A lot of things. Hi, Brennan. We should just say from the Kings Beat Podcast.
This is true. That that may work. Uh maybe Sean will stop giving me a hard time. I'm doing well. I'm doing well. I uh I really enjoy fireworks every year. I don't know uh
My name's Brendan and I like fireworks.
I like fireworks. Um, yeah, I like your shirt, Sean. I like I like things. I'm doing well. I'm doing well. I'm excited. I like summer league basketball. Uh I know Sean, maybe not so much.
Not so much.
There's things to watch for. I'm excited. That's right around the corner. And glad to be here with you, fellas. I like podcasting.
Can I s yes, yes, yes. We haven't done enough of it uh lately. One of us has, but not enough. Uh I will say like um di I normally don't like summer league basketball at all or being in Vegas in July, but can I can I just say I'm actually looking forward to this one question mark? Uh I think I mean the Kings have a bunch of faces that represent their future and uh solid stature on the active roster. And you compare that to last year and it's like, yeah, Neat Clifford, Maxime Renault, and then Kind of a meh the rest of the way. And this one, you know, and all the lead up and talk about, you know, what Darius Jr. provides the Kings, like this this is where it's a little different. I think I'm excited for Jamarian Sharp.
Playing for another team. California Classic for the Kings and then the Raptors for uh looks uh for summer league, right? I think it's the Raptors.
I was uh yeah, I was kinda hoping that he would sign like a two way contract. Like he's at least intriguing. I don't know. Seven foot five. That's crazy. Yeah, yeah. Um all right. Well we'll come at everybody. You know, I don't know if he can play basketball, but yeah, he's probably in the top point zero zero zero zero zero one percent of the world.
Yeah.
Yeah. Something like that maybe. Not as wealth. Maybe maybe more zeros. Yeah. Um, all right. Well, welcome into the Kingspeed Podcast. You guys have your candles going? Sean, you haven't lit up a faux candle in the back?
Yeah, here's a fake one. Um, this is let's see, let's take a peek. It's actually it's a real candle. It's a I don't think I should touch this. I'm at channel three and this is a this is part of their set, although it does say Escape and discover.
Oh. Oh. Are you better at escaping or discovering? I I'd say I'm better at discovering.
I haven't perfected the craft of escaping yet.
I'd kinda like to, but No, you're not an Irish goodbye type of guy.
No, definitely not. That's tough. That's tough for me.
Me on the other hand. Yeah. Yeah, I got a little stress relief candle going on. I don't know if uh little throwback I was complaining about a wood wick when I first got this thing. We're gonna see if it actually burns this time. Wood wick. That's a that's some that's a it's a tongue twister.
Yeah.
There it is.
All right. Well, welcome in everybody. Uh we're starting to see people flood in.
