Chapter 1: What is the main topic discussed in this episode?
iHeart Podcasts. Hear more KISS Podcast playlists and listen live on the free iHeart app. Jackie's got some old news. What have you got?
Well, I think Kanye West, fingers crossed, I do believe we might have the old Kanye back, finally.
For how long?
Well, for good.
What's happened? What have you noticed?
He's actually put out a full page ad in the Wall Street Journal to explain and apologise. Now, and he's apologising mostly for his anti-Semitic rants that he's been on towards the Jewish people.
How do you apologise for starting that and continuing and beating down and doubling down?
Yeah. He said, look, I'm not a Nazi or an anti-Semite.

Chapter 2: What prompted Kanye West's public apology?
I love Jewish people. He explained that in 2002 he had a car accident and he developed an injury on his frontal lobe of the brain and his bipolar caused him to lose touch with reality and which prompted him to then gravitate towards the swastika and the Nazi kind of, you know, idealisation.
You're sure he wasn't just trying to shit-stir? Because that's what I think.
But I do think that when he was off his meds with the bipolar, that would have sent him off the rails a bit.
Let's ask Bruno, our bipolar expert. Now, Bruno, when I bring this up, sometimes people complain. Oh, I'm telling everyone that you're crazy. But you want people to know that you've got the bipolar, so it's not a stigma. Like, people talk about this.
Yeah, especially with men. I think that it's shit that it gets, like, not spoken about. Oh, you know, can't mention it. It's like, yeah, I've got bipolar. That's the hand that I was dealt in life.
When you don't take your medication, you go the way of Kanye as well? Is that what happens?

Chapter 3: How does Kanye explain his anti-Semitic comments?
That's sort of...
Yeah, yeah, yeah, like those hypermanic kind of episodes. Yeah, I do. Are you on the meds now? Yeah, yeah, I'm on the meds now, so I'm nice and normal. Well, as normal as I can be, yeah. And when you don't take the meds, do you dress up like Hitler? Look, I've never dressed up as Hitler, but I can see that in his mind he's trying to... It throws you off course, though, right?
Yeah, and in your mind you're like, oh, I'm a shit-stirrer, I'm a... A noisemaker. I'm a noisemaker, I'm so outrageous.
Thought-provoking. But he did say, he said, I have now found my new baseline and new center through an effective regime with the right medication and therapy and exercise and clean living. Wow. And I've now found clarity and I pour my energy now into positive, meaningful art, music, clothing and design and new ideas to help the world.
So I do hope that that lasts because he is so talented and he does, like, he is very creative.
When he's on fire, he's on fire in every way, shape or form.
But I understand why this happens to him with the bipolar because I think from what Bruno has said in the past that when you do have those manic episodes, there is a lot of creativity in those. Yeah. And therefore, like, he might have been spurred on by that in the past.

Chapter 4: What role does bipolar disorder play in Kanye's behavior?
Oh. Yeah, it can sometimes feel like a superpower. You're like, I'm going to stay up for three days straight and I know everything.
Are you saying that all the things that we've been in trouble about over the years, the real culprit is bipolar? Yes, that's exactly what I'm saying.
Yeah, I don't know if we can say that.
I don't want my hands of any responsibility myself.
Bipolar boys. Let's hope we have the old Kanye back.
Because I want to be able to wear the Kanye shoes again.
Yeah, I mean, you know, which ones are easy?
They're bloody good. I hated the slides.
Yeah, the slides.

Chapter 5: How can mental health impact creativity in artists?
Like a kid's packet of crayons.
Yeah. Yeah. According to Robert. Yeah.
Can anyone smell their own odour?
Not really. I don't think so.
Are you all right over there with your bloody... Oh, that's a bit of an exaggeration, is it not? You've been coughing for a week. Have you tripped your throat?
No, I haven't. Just today, I have.
You thought you haven't got your Michael Douglas throat coming back?
No, I think it's like something's going around where you feel a little tiny bit congested and a little cough, but nothing else, and you're not sick.
And you blow your nose like two or three times a day, and that's it. It's so strange. Do you have that, Brooklyn? No, I'm good at the moment.
