Hey guys, it's audio producer Hulk from the Kyle and Jackie O Show. We know a large percentage of you are absolutely losing your minds because the Lady Gaga Australian tour has officially begun today. So to kick off this momentous tour, we've put together a special podcast of the previous times Kyle and Jackie O sat down with Lady Gaga. Hope you enjoy it. This is the Kyle and Jackie O Show.
Hello, this is Lady Gaga and I'm taking over.
Lady Gaga's on the air with us. Yes, we all know Perfect Illusion debuted number one on iTunes in 60 countries.
Why is Lady Gaga calling in to celebrate her Australian tour launch?
Joanne, the album, available now. She's on the phone. It's Thanksgiving. She's in New York with her family. Yes. God, we've gone over several things already.
What about, I want to know, you've... I loved working on... Oh, I'm so sorry. Oh, no, go ahead. Go ahead.
Go, go, go. I just wanted to mention, because you said Perfect Illusion, you know, I loved working with Kevin Parker of Tame Impala on that record. Um... He was, you know, an amazing and incredible Australian genius. Yes. And... We really had a tremendous time working together. And he's so, so wonderful. He plays every instrument and he's so kind and loving. And isn't it funny? Like we were just talking about, you know, that Selena speech and, you know, putting your feelings kind of on the table. And Perfect Delusion is, you know, really what that's about in a way is saying, like, I'm looking for something real. I want real love. This is just a fake one. This is just a perfect illusion. I want the real thing.
Your little monsters, they're all over the world. They adore you. They love what you stand for. You've really got the power to move people and step up on platforms, help people that can't be helped. You take that very seriously as well because in your role, yeah, you do the music, you do the acting, you're an all-around talent, but you've got such a huge responsibility that you can help people. You do that a lot too, right?
Yes. Well, I try to do as much as I can, you know, and that's really in my heart. What I feel my life purpose is, is to, you know, entertain people, but also, you know, put messages of good news and good energy and positive vibes into the world. You know, I say that a lot, like here we come with our Joanne vibes, you know, Joanne is all about feeling good and putting out positivity and being loving and supportive of one another. And, You know, the world can be chaotic and life can be chaotic and everybody has different things that they're going through. And the best way to get through it is together and with kindness, you know, and not with division or or, you know, being hard on one another. I think that that sort of culture, I hope, is dying.
That sort of trendy thing of, you know, being cutting and being mean on the Internet, bullying, you know. I hope that that's dying, and I continue to speak out about it and work on it with my mom for the Born This Way Foundation to help people understand cyberbullying and help them understand why it's important to be nice to each other. And we're also actually β I just got in today, and I'm excited to put out some research that we're doing on what kindness actually does to the brain.
What does it do?
It actually has β Well, we're going to put it out and I want to put it out in a very special way so that people can see. But the truth is that when you're kind to someone, you actually can see what it does to the brain and you can see what it does to a person and their body and how it affects them. On the flip side, there's something called the kindness high. And basically what it is is when you help other people, it actually makes you feel good. Yeah. Because when you make somebody else feel better and you give them something, you feel good that you gave them something. I agree.
You do, don't you? Yeah.
On the flip side to that, have you ever interacted with someone who's been negative to you online and regretted it? Whether you've gotten sucked into something a troll has said and been dragged into some sort of argument.
