Hello and a very warm welcome to the Late Breaking F1 podcast presented by Sam Sage and me, Ben Hawking. Here we are back for another Wednesday episode. No F1 this weekend, Sam, the first time. First time in a couple of weekends that's the case. But you know what? Ferraria winning. The sun is shining, life is great.

Not sure that's ever happened before since I've been around, but technically, yes, it's true. Uh amazingly so. We've had a a very interesting first few Grand Prix since that weird spring break and now we've got a little bit of time to sit back and digest what's been going on.
And uh we're recovering after what was uh a a taxing weekend for us, you know, some some some late nights for some of the members of the teams, a trip to Silverstone. Um but you know what they say? About tough times.

Um, but we're going to start today with Max Verstappen, uh, who has expressed his anger after a rear wing issue caused another high speed crash for the second consecutive weekend at this weekend's British GP.
Uh an apparent problem with the rear wing sent Verstappen into the barriers during Q3 at the Red Bull ring last weekend. Uh and then a similar failure, although not quite the same, uh struck again at the British GP, with Verstappen losing control through Stowe. Uh this time, however, his Red Bull came to rest in the gravel rather than hitting the barriers. Verstappen made his frustration clear over team radio saying, naughty word this car. Uh, before angrily throwing his steering wheel from the cockpit after climbing out. Uh speaking after the race, Verstappen said the incident was like Austria, uh, but different fault that's ended up in the same outcome. Team principal Laura Mekies admitted Verstappen was right to be unhappy and said Red Bull has not ruled out returning to the rear wing specif specification it used at the start of the season.

And at least with the Austrian Grand Prix, it happened in qualifying. And look, he made up the places pretty quick. And whilst he may have gone on to getting a victory there, at least he finished the Grand Prix and a very positive position, right? Picked up that podium, displayed brilliant pace. And okay, sure. Like I mentioned, in another world, maybe he wings it. But at least he finishes.
