Prosecutors ultimately demonstrated that Bach and co-conspirators, and she often used a group of co-conspirators who happened to be Somali, but she was the ringleader of all of this. They submitted fake invoices, attendance rosters, and documentations. Funds were laundered through. Through different shell companies. And uh in 2022, federal charges were filed against 78 individuals. It was initially 47, but that grew over time. Yes, there were defendants who were Somali Americans. Bach, a white lady, was identified as the mastermind.
