OpenAI just dropped ChatGPT Agent, and we test it LIVE for the first time. Watch as we put this "true" AI agent through its paces - from finding the perfect Gibson Les Paul to building competitive intelligence reports. We explore what makes this different from Zapier-style automation, demonstrate real-world use cases, and discuss why this might be the beginning of America's first super app. Plus: can it actually convince Corey's wife he needs a new guitar?Subscribe to The Neuron newsletter: https://theneuron.aiOriginal article: https://www.theneuron.ai/newsletter/openais-new-agent-is-hereRead More: https://www.theneuron.ai/explainer-articles/how-to-build-your-own-ai-agent-without-being-a-pro-coderhttps://www.theneuron.ai/newsletter/operator-book-me-some-clientsChatGPT Agent: https://openai.com/index/introducing-chatgpt-agent/ N8N: https://n8n.io/
Full Episode
So OpenAI just dropped a new tool called ChatGPT Agent, and Grant and I are going to try it out for the first time right now. All right. Welcome, humans, to another episode of the Neuron Podcast. I'm Corey Knowles here with our awesome writer, Grant Harvey, as always. Say hi, Grant. What's up? How's it going? Going great, man. Going great. I always love launch day. Launch day gets me excited.
How about you?
Yeah, it's awesome. It's really awesome when it's something that actually is cutting edge, like what we're about to do today.
Yeah, what we're about to see is, to quote Chad GPT, this is a real game changer. And I don't say that lightly. It's pretty cool, and I think something we're... I want to say on the precipice of, but we're kind of cartwheeling and tumbling right into right now is a real change in the way we use the Internet and computers. You know, things are about to look a lot different.
And what we're going to show you today is a really interesting glimpse into that.
Yeah, definitely. So we'll talk about, we'll intro the tool in just a minute, but I think it's important to point out a couple of things. First of all, what is an agent? Second of all, how have we made agents or agents up until this point? And then why what we're about to show you is a big deal. Yeah. Yeah. So first of all, Corey, what, in your opinion, is an agent?
When you ask me what an agent is, you should know that I disagree with a lot of people on this subject. It's a thing where I get really lost in the semantics, kind of, because, you know, over the last year, a lot of companies have come out and started talking about their agents and all of this.
And what they're really doing, in my opinion, is busting out Zapier automations that can do a task over and over once you set it up and build out this whole thing. And in my eye...
you know, truly agentic AI is the ability to have your AI tool do something autonomous, to make decisions throughout the process, to understand what tools it needs to use, and just go figure that out and come back with a result that is without a human in the loop and less Unless there's a need for one at some point.
