Today's episode is inspired. By a Nick Sabin quote. I came across A few days ago. Maybe not quote, but a speech. Now if you're unfamiliar with Nick Sabin. He is A famous Notorious College football coach. And while he delivered the speech that I'm about to share with you. He has led Teams to multiple championships. He is an aspirational leader, mentor, coach. And when he delivered this speech, he was at the University of Alabama, Crimson Tide. It was two thousand twenty-three after a practice leading into and upcoming game against Arkansas. And he had a media interview. And he delivered this speech, which I believe is so powerful. And the title is The Importance. Of nothing. And it goes. Y'all ready for a lecture? We talk about the importance of nothing.
You get up every day. You are entitled. To nothing. Nobody owes you. Nothing. You could have talent, but if you don't have discipline and you don't execute, you don't focus, you get nothing. If you're complacent. And not paying attention to detail. What does that get you? Nothing. So nothing is acceptable but your best. Everything is determined by what you do and you trying to be your best. So you can build on positive performance. That's the only thing. There should be nothing else but that for everybody. That's what we have to stay focused on. That's what we need to do. We need to not accept anything but our best in terms of what во preparing. to do. The importance Of nothing. As I heard that speech. It really resonated with me.
Because the importance of nothing is all about entitlement. We are entitled. To nothing. Grateful. for everything we have, but entitled. To nothing. I believe we have been uniquely and individually.
Why does hard work not guarantee success and how should we rethink effort?
Gifted with a set of talents. Each one of us. No talents better than the other. And I share that with you from a A Christian lens. А фейс байсленс. For myself. Someone who believes in God and a follower of Jesus Christ. I believe that God has gifted each one of us With a set of Unique talents. Skills, abilities. And it is our responsibility. To put forth the effort. The work And the processes. To put those talents. into action. to see what those those talents have the potential to become. We have been given The ability. We haven't been given the action. We have to make the decision. We have the free will. To take action on the talents we have been given. We can either put our talents to work. Or allow them to waste.
I've heard someone say once before and I can't remember where I heard it. But they said that. The fear they have in life. Із да сам дай. And they are met by this individual. That individual is Who they could have become.
