Chapter 1: What is the purpose of the Giant Eagle Feed the Need Radiothon?
Fly ball to left field. Michael McHenry! The fart! Oh, baby! Your buckles lead it! Unbelievable! Wow! His first in the big leagues! They're going to bring the house down!
Yes, sir. It's time for the fort here on the Giant Eagle Feed the Need Radiothon. This hour sponsored by Junk Luggers in the North Hills. You know Michael McHenry from his career.
As a Pirates catcher, including that incredible moment and also from him analyzing Pirate games, one person this hour who donates $50 or more, which is 150 meals or more, will win tickets to an exclusive in-store signing event on April 3rd at First and Goal Sports with Tommy Novak and Stuart Skinner, plus a signed Max Talbot photo. Michael, we appreciate you taking the time today, my friend.
What's happening over there? How's your rehab going?
Rehab's good. I also got my friend right here. I don't know if you see my mug.

Chapter 2: How does Michael McHenry contribute to the radiothon?
Yeah, what's going on there?
This is going to be my mug when we lose a couple games this year. I'm going to bring it on set with me. Like, oh no, we didn't win. So we speak no evil. And I have another mug that I'm going to use when we win. And I hope to have that winning mug way more often.
Is that an owl mug?
An owl? This is a pirate.
Oh, I can't see from here. It looks like I thought it was dedicated to Gormy the Owl from the Tribune Review. All right, that's a pirate.
This is a long lineage of Captain Skeens here. Let's go. What are we doing?
I like that. Michael, before we get to baseball. You're a man with a big heart, and that's what we're doing today is people showing their heart by finding a way to help people who are food insecure. Wondering if you could just speak to yourself and also professional athletes who find ways to help like that in your positions.
Yeah. One of my favorite players of all time is Jackie Robinson. And he has a quote that says, life is only significant to how it can impact others. And I truly believe that. And that's what we're called to do, especially as our platform grows, right? Some people can just give so much. Maybe it's a can of soup and that's all you got. The fact is that you have the heart to give. It's incredible.
As you kind of Raised up in life, I feel like we're called, whether you believe in faith or whatever you believe in, to give back. And there's no greater gift than giving back. It's super rewarding. You're not gonna leave this earth with extra money or extra food. You might as well give it away. And one of my favorite people on the planet, my wife's dad who passed away,

Chapter 3: What insights does Michael McHenry share about giving back?
He's as good as he ever was for a couple weeks. And you remember, hey, that's Andrew McCutcheon. He's pretty good at baseball.
What do you make of the Pirates bench, Michael, with Joey Bart, him and Davis moving back and forth? Mangum, but especially Billy Cook and Nick York, the last two guys to make the team.
I'm going to focus on Billy Cook and York. I'm happy York's finally getting a chance. It's going to be tough off the bench, but he's the bat in my mind, and then Cook gives you that other option. for defense in the outfield.
I mean, you have O'Hearn that's probably going to come into first a lot to replace Horowitz defensively, and he'll be in when lefties are out there, and then Cook can jump out there in the outfield and give a blow to those guys, especially with lefties. So I love that move.
If you don't know, Cook is really, really good in the outfield, so that solidifies that position, makes us a little bit more dynamic off the bench because he can run a little bit. And then York, I think he is ā when it comes to the major leagues. I don't think we've seen even a piece of what that kid can do. I think he's going to have a big year if he gets enough opportunities.
But yeah, I think our bench is good or better than it's been a long time, especially when it comes to the way they can utilize it.
Well, the season opener is right around the corner, Michael. Is this a playoff team?
If they can stay healthy and... work around the length of innings that these guys are going to have restrictions on. There's no question, and I'll tell you right now, if they can get in the postseason, there's nothing that could stop them if they're hot because how good the pitching is, but that's the whole thing. You've got to figure out a way to balance this.
I think Clevenger staying here and going to AAA is a huge, huge bonus for us. It gives us depth, and he's a guy that could come up and give us innings with incredible pedigree, but

Chapter 4: Why is community support important for local businesses?
Because I think he probably could have left and been on a big league team. But he made that choice because he's got 10 and 5 rights. He has all the things on his side that you need to move on and he didn't. And that speaks volumes because I would say over the last decade, I can't think of one guy that stayed like that, especially with that pedigree.
Well, thank you, Michael. We appreciate that. And by the time we talk again, the season will be underway. Can't wait. Thank you, sir.
Absolutely. Thank you guys. And God bless. And I love what you guys are doing. Keep sending in money. People need to eat. God bless you guys.
Thank you, Michael. He's exactly right about that. One in eight people, including one in five children, food insecure in our region right here. That's why we're doing what we do. Yes, Brian Rausch, the marketing guru for Sly Deck and Fence joins us. And Joe, he's on the video feed. How about this? Holy bird.
Good morning, afternoon. It's afternoon. Good afternoon, ladies and gents.
Wow. You're bringing the energy today like Dan Hurley, Brian. I love it. How are you?
Every day, all day, my friend.
Well, you have come on to make a little announcement from your folks over at Schley Deck and Fence. Have you not? I have.

Chapter 6: How does JP Roofing engage with the community?
That is correct.
Brian, that's amazing, man. I cannot tell you how much we appreciate that.
That is our pleasure. That is the cusp of what we do, how we do things. First and foremost, folks like McDonald's as a real estate company, we are actually a hospitality company. So that is what we're here for.
Wow. I'm just I'm almost speechless over this limits. Ten thousand dollars from Schley Deck and Fence. Wow. That's awesome. That is a bell ringer. That's how we do things here in Pittsburgh.
Yeah, Brian, why is it so important for Schleideck and Fence especially to help out people that are in need? What drives you guys every day?
As I said, we are a hospitality company, so it's about doing those extra things. We don't like to do things without an impact or without a purpose. So that is what we're here. Purposeful in Pittsburgh. I just created that. I think that should stick.
You guys should run with that. Hashtag it. Hashtag Purposeful in Pittsburgh. I love it.
I like it a lot. Well, Brian, we really appreciate that. I had an oak tree, a giant oak tree come right up out of the ground a week ago, Friday. I don't know, 10 days ago, 11 days ago. So I might need to call you later on today about my fencing that came down because of that oak tree. It's unbelievable.
We're just a phone call away, so feel free.

Chapter 7: What are the benefits of donating to food insecurity initiatives?
We've had Max on talking about that before. One of the great moments in Pittsburgh sports history. He's always fun to talk to. What a moment that was against the Flyers. You know, it would really stink as if the Flyers got the Penguins. If anybody's going to catch them, it can't be them. That just cannot happen.
Another story just popped up in the world of sports, I might add, is that Pitt is moving on from assistant basketball coaches Jason Capel, Jeff's brother, and Tim O'Toole. They both won't be back for a 2026-27 season. A Pitt spokesman confirmed Tuesday to the Post-Gazette here. That's where I'm reading it right now. Jeff Capel had the same staff really for his entire tenure.
So things changing over there, it sounds, and I don't know this, but it would sound like maybe Jeff was forced to make a change to his staff there. Obviously, if you're moving on from your own brother, that seems sensible is that Alan Green may have stepped in and said, we need to see some changes to your staff. So news breaking left and right.
Yes, McCutcheon officially makes the Rangers roster. Let's go to our friend Joe Potocznik, the man and the mustache. JP, how are you, buddy? Good, Joe. How are you? I've never been better. We got to get on the golf course very soon.
Yes, I'd like to take a trip to Doral if we could find some time.
definitely to florida at some point anyway yeah for sure well jp you're stepping up here uh for the cause yes yes joe every year you know we uh we donate to feed the need you know we do things for our community out here and uh our thoughts are always with the ones that need us the most and this year we want to keep our donation at fifteen hundred dollars yes and uh We like to give back.
It's part of our DNA at J.P. Roofing. The company grows, mustache grows, and the dollar amount grows.
You are unbelievable. You have stepped up every single year for us. I can't even do the math there. Limits 1,500 times three is what?
4,500 meals. The problem with people like us, Joe, is that we didn't go to school for math. We went to school to talk. It's 4,500 meals. Yes.

Chapter 8: What updates were provided on meal donations during the radiothon?
The ones that need us the most that need tarps, that are leaking from this high winds. A lot of their roof has blown off or they got some heavy damage on the sidings. We're trying to service them first, the emergency services. We have crews out there just doing temporary patches to the insurance companies get there or we can get there and replace the roof for them.
Amazing. JP, you're a generous man. You donated 4,500 meals. We thank you, sir, and I'll talk to you very soon.
Thanks, Joe. Thanks, Austin. Thanks, JP. Appreciate it.
Take care, JP, and thank you again. You're welcome.
What a nice man. We have a very interesting development. What happened? So our friends at Slide, Deck, and Fence donated... $10,000. 30,000 meals. 30,000 meals. Are you ready for this?
Yeah.
The text line is informing us of something that happened on the morning show this morning. What? Multiple texters are saying that Crowley this morning said that if there was one donation of 30,000 meals or more, that he would do 24 hours in solitary confinement in a jail cell. Yes! Finally! So Crowley... This is amazing. It sounds like he has a bet to pay off here.
Does somebody need to donate a jail cell for him? Or how does that work? I don't know. Maybe a makeshift jail cell will get it done. All right.
Well, you just got even better, Schleideck and Fentz. The texter said that he made a statement that anyone in their time slot, another 10,000, it would be for Harry Callas and another for Doran. Now, does this mean that... I think that this means that... Crowley should be paying this off, even though it was during our show.
