Chapter 1: Who are the potential candidates for Steelers offensive coordinator?
Fan Haul, I'm presented by Sullivan Super Service, providing trusted plumbing and HVAC service for over 50 years. Listen to the Pomp and Joe Show on demand on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, wherever you get your podcasts. Mike McCarthy will be introduced tomorrow at 2 p.m. at Accra Shore Stadium. Should be very interesting. Bob, are you going to be there? Are you going to throw the mic to him?
One of us will be there, me or Rich or Cassidy. I'm not sure who at this point, but yeah, somebody will be there. It'll be very interesting to hear from him and his vision for what he has, not just this year, but beyond this year.
Yeah, man. I'm particularly interested, of course, in the quarterback, but also the coordinators, Bob. The Batconian Mongoose dove into that a little bit today, and I thought had an interesting piece. And there's a lot of names being thrown out there on both sides of the ball. One for the offensive coordinator is Ben McAdoo. No relation to Bob McAdoo. What do you think of that call?
Uh, I've seen him as a head coach. Not sure. I don't know. I'd want, I want a young up and coming guy, somebody who can be molded into a head coach. You know, if that's the case, there are people out there. I just don't know how many he knows.
And you think shield house is still a possibility.
I'm hoping that's probably just hope. because he's interviewing for the Browns job. But if he doesn't get it, he may want an upgrade in his position. He spent a lot of time with Sean McVay. The Steelers seem to be very impressed by him. Maybe that's still a possibility.
How about Tom Arthur, King Arthur? Arthur was a quarterback coach here.
Quarterback's coach, yeah. Really solid guy. Worked with McCarthy in 2006. He's also a legitimate possibility. He could be there on that roster in some capacity. Maybe the same role.
How about Scott Tolzien? Yeah. He worked with McCarthy in Dallas, and he's viewed as a pretty sharp, young, 38-year-old offensive mind. Do you like that call, Bob? I don't know enough about him, but yes.

Chapter 2: What makes Luke Getsy a strong candidate for offensive coordinator?
There's no doubt about it. How about good old Luke Getzey? As the Mongoose says, this would be a yin-splosion. He is a Steel Valley High School graduate, and he was on the Packers staff with McCarthy for a bit there.
I know Luke. He won one of my awards back in the day, and I've watched him in his career.
Yeah, I mean, the connection was there. He's 41. Things didn't go well in Chicago or Vegas for him as a play caller, but that, again, we've talked about this. Look at Clint Kubiak.
Things didn't go well for him in New Orleans or Denver. You have to have the people. If you have the people, you can do some things. If you don't, then it won't work. But he's a name you'll be hearing a lot about, I'm sure. Whether or not he gets it here, who knows.
And honestly, the defensive side to me is more important right now because McCarthy's going to call the plays. He's the Tomlin version of an offensive coordinator. It's his offense. Right.
And he said once a long time ago that he would never relinquish those duties again. He wants to call plays. I kind of like that in a head coach, to be honest. I think you watch McVay go after. You watch the guys who are doing it. you know, they're in charge and they're going to take the blame. They're going to get the praise. Whatever the case, he's decided he's going to be that guy.
Now, you can have coordinators that do stuff throughout the course of the week, but that's the one thing that will stop Sheilhaus probably from being here. If McCarthy's going to call the plays and he has no opportunity to call plays as an offensive coordinator. And I think if you're going to bring him in, you need to give him that opportunity.
Snow, high of 20, Pi Trainer. Is there going to be more snow today? Is that right, Lemon? No, I just put snow because we got a foot. There's snow already here, yes. Cold, for sure. Really cold. A low of Pi Trainer. No, a low of Ben. Seven. Feels like... By trainer. Remember that, Bob? Will Brian Reynolds break the hit record for the Pirates? I remember. Feels like minus two.
Fan weather brought to you by Meyers Lager, Pittsburgh's choice for affordable legal solutions. So defensive coordinator, as the Mongoose suggests, this is going to be your baby as a defensive coordinator. This is Andy Reid. This is here, Steve Spagnuolo. I don't even pay attention to defense. You take it. It's yours. That's how it should be. I agree with it.
