Yeah, just to echo what Art said, we were very open, not minded going into this and interviewed really, really an awesome group of candidates. And, you know, I think Mike's resume speaks for itself. Learned a lot through the process, but we're excited Mike McCarthy's the head coach.
Mike White did a really good story on Mike McCarthy's youth sports career, Bob. Tremendous stuff filled with photos. He was a teammate, I believe, of Archie Manning. Not that Archie Manning, but the Archie Manning who owns Archie's downtown, right?
Yes, that Archie. And Mike White, he has so much knowledge of covering these guys from the beginning. And I'm anxious to see it because I didn't see it. I just heard about it from you, so I'm going to read it when I get done.
He graduated in, let's see, 1981 from Bishop Boyle, I believe, right? And there he was a pretty good basketball player. Basketball was his best sport. Did you know that, Bob? I didn't know that. 6'2", 220. And he had big games when they were pretty good. 23 in a loss to Alderdice, 23 against South, 22 against Sarah, 20 against Canavan. And they went on to win a state title right after he left.
He was on a pretty good team, and then they took the next step the next year. And getting back to St. Rosalia, do I say St. Rosalia's, Bob, or just St.
Rosalia's? I think it's Rosalia's.
Yeah. I'm not sure. Listen to this. Fifth and sixth graders in 75, they finished 39-1 and won a diocesan championship. How about that? He has a big history. I didn't even know about that one. That's legendary stuff right there. And he also, by the way, helped keep that school open, apparently, with donations, according to this story.
I think it closed a while ago, but he helped keep it open for a while as well. All right, Bob. Look at that. Um, let's get back to the news conference limits from yesterday. You pull key clips and then Bob and I will riff on them. Does that sound like a plan? Yeah, it sounds like a plan to me guys. Does it sound like a plan to you? Yes. Let's go. It looks perfectly nice out there.

Chapter 3: How does Mike McCarthy feel about the Steelers roster?
Yeah, we need to see it there, I think. You can do it respectfully also. Sure. As you said. Yeah, they've done a lot of great stuff here, but I'm here because they haven't achieved what this organization prides itself in, Super Bowls. We haven't done that. Right. That's our mission. Yeah. I signed a five-year contract, and in that time, that's my goal.
That's what I'm going to do. Now, he did say at other times, here to get that seventh Lombardi, and they're going to start at, what is it, 1137 Greenfield Avenue? He must have played basketball. There's a little rec center, Bob, on Greenfield Avenue. Not far from, what's the street that would run parallel from Squirrel Hill? Murray. Am I right? Murray Avenue? No.
I need MapQuest to figure that stuff out. What's the... Street that runs out of Squirrel Hill into Greenfield. I think it is Murray Avenue. It is? I think. Well, whatever it is, we used to play basketball on Greenfield Avenue, I think, at a little rec center limits. And I might add, I played pretty well in that little building. You ever played at St. Mary's Lyceum? Yes.
Have I played or coached there?
It has a balcony. Oh, it's legendary. I played there when I was in like fourth and fifth grade, maybe sixth grade. Did you? Incredible venue. Probably my favorite place I've ever played basketball outside of St. E's. Truly iconic place. Yeah, these old gyms where, Bob, we were sitting on church pews and there was a stage. So in the gym.
It's like being at the Ryman Theater in Nashville. The place is just, it's holy practically.
It's a church. Your parents watch the game from above, like on an actual balcony.
We used to go to, I don't know if it was, what school was it where you go in and you're looking straight down.
Yeah, there's a couple of those. Everything's on top. I used to coach basketball in Butler, junior high, where you look down, and then there's one in Baldwin, St. Elizabeth.
