Enjoy!Summary: The bit of Voldemort's soul inside of Harry was a big deal in the Harry Potter books. So many things happened because of it and it caused a whole lot of trouble. But it also had its fair share of damage. For some reason, it could survive the basilisk venom injected into Harry in the second book. How did the happen? Maybe, Harry was the deciding factor. If Harry died, so would the horcrux. But that makes no sense, as Hermione has said the container of a horcrux doesn't matter (in this case Harry). Maybe it all boils down to luck. The venom might have hit just the right spot for Harry to live long enough to get a cure. Fawks might have arrived on the scene right on time. As much as I want to believe that to be true, I don't think it is. In that same passage Hermione said, the container of a horcrux can be damaged, and the soul inside would be fine. Is that not what happened here? As a human, Harry could take a lot more than a book or cup. The venom was inside him, but he was fine. (Except for the fact he was dying).
