I tell you, Brett did a nice job of bringing the guys in and drafting them and Um free agent and It was good to see. The thing that I mentioned to them is that th you know, there's tape out there now. So, uh, you gotta just you know, whatever hiccups you had, you gotta fix those and you know these other coaches are pretty creative people and The players they they study you, so or the rookies that they don't have a lot of tape on those guys.
There were some guys kinda opened up especially kinda later into the route routes and secondary and and third routes. And so just being I got better as the game went on of kinda getting through the reads and getting to those guys. Um but uh I I thought it overall, I mean, we played well as an offense. It's just now it's about taking that next step of kind of using the run game to get to the the pass game. And so uh it was a good it was a good starting point, but now we gotta keep getting better.
There's a little rust there, then he gets in the second half, twelve or fourteen or whatever it was. I mean he did good in the second half and uh you figured there was gonna be a little bit of that for him to even be out there. Ninety percent of the guys wouldn't need him to play, so Some from the out there doing it.
And now, still knocking off the rust, Seren Petro.
Right you are, Kay, right you are. Patrick on the program on Sports Radio 810 WHB. Thank you for joining us here on a uh nice warm day. We'll talk some uh talk a lot of football, as a matter of fact. We'll start things off with some baseball. Jeff Passon's gonna join us here in a little bit. Uh then Pete Sweeney coming in, beat rider for the Kansas City Star handles the Chiefs beat. Tim Grunhart in the four, Seth Kaiser in the five. Football, football, football. It's a football.
Are we gonna talk cowboys?
Uh 'cause E
S P N would probably the Yeah, what's wrong with these cowboys? The the front front page of their football thing about an hour ago was Dak Prescott's about to break Tony Romo's club record for touchdown passes. So they went and talked to a bunch of people that have caught touchdown passes from Dak Prescott. I'm like What?
Really? When you admit that you're just no longer a news organization and you just are chasing clicks I I expect Yeah, never mind. Let's just move forward. I'm not even gonna go there.
Well we know whatn't we know none of them happened in the past the divisional playoffs.
Yeah, that's right. We we do know that. But not a
lot of playoff touchdowns. Nine stories as Prescott nears Romo's cowboy record.
And if they do I caught a playoff T D from Dak. Two stories, both of 'em, that occurred in his tenure. I don't know, he's probably got more than that, but not a whole lot more.
Uh Time for good stuff.
Uh we uh I I wanna leave a good chunk of time for Jeff Passon here, so we're gonna we'll be brief here to get things started and then we'll get Jeff in here. But The Chiefs bumping up on the uh power pole thirteen to eight. Mhm. Where d where do we think they belong? Is that one game?
I think it probably is. I think it's and there's a a a lot of it is not just the game but who it was against and the and the uh the well that's that game. I mean i it's it like that they want to get yeah, uh all that combined, I th and maybe the fact that one of the teams that they passed was the team that they beat, so but that helped too. Yeah,
the Broncos are nine and Yeah, they they f
they fell down from where were the Broncos? Uh Broncos were four, so they they they leapfrogged them, so there's one of the notches there. Um yes, and and not just I think there was a l a lot of wait and see.
