Fourth quarter of the program begins right now as we finish strong here on a Wednesday still to come. If you haven't had enough Chiefs football, well, open your mouth. We're going to serve you another helping of Chiefs talk with Seth Kaiser coming up in our next segment. We'll see what the Chief from the North has decided happened, according to the videotape. He's broken down the tape. He's going to tell you exactly what the hell to expect.
I've been wanting to note this, and I keep forgetting to do it when we do the four fingers. I've only really seen that in a memorable game one time, and I was just watching some highlights.
You do it in college all the time.
Yeah, but I don't remember it standing out. And I was watching Super Bowl XIV, Steelers-Rams. Rams go to the fourth quarter. Rams are surprising. They're a 12-point dog. They're up two, 19-17. As they go to the other end of the field. The Rams all sprint down four. Four's up, man. We're ready to go. We're in this game. Pittsburgh outscored them 14-0 in the fourth quarter to win their fourth Super Bowl in six years. It doesn't always work. It's the most notable. We're ready to go. Pittsburgh went, okay.
We're going to walk down. It always works when we do okay. It works for us, though. Every time. Because you don't have to move. You're kind of a sedentary individual. We're the Steelers. You're a sedentary guy doing a sedentary job. Yes, you are. How far are we, do you think, Kyle, from Thunderdome just wheeling him in the wheeler chair back over to the studio? You got some stones.
I'll tell you that. Whereas you, you run in place the entire show.
Very active. Yes. I'm very active. Thanks for putting that out. I appreciate that. People can't see that unless they're watching the stream. I'm glad now they know exactly what's going on in here. Never do I sound winded either. That's the best part, the way I pull
that off. I will say one of us has gone to the snack machine today, and it wasn't me.
Let's hear it for Patrick Mahomes. He was at the podium today. A little film study. Mahomes was asked what he learned after taking a look at the film of Monday's game.
There were some guys kind of opened up, especially kind of later into the routes and secondary and third routes. And so I got better as the game went on of kind of getting through the reads and getting to those guys. But I thought overall, I mean, we played well as an offense. It's just now it's about taking that next step of kind of using the run game to get to the pass game. And so it was a good starting point, but now we've got to keep getting better.
You did get better as the game wore on. There's no doubt about that. He was asked about what plays he felt like he missed.
I think there was two. I mean, there was one early. I try to force the ball to Trav, and if I kind of get through my read, the last read's Kenneth on the right out of the backfield, and you give it to him, he has a chance to score a touchdown there. And then early in the game, one of those first third and longs, I try to force the ball into Xavier, and That is my first read, and there was a chance I could get in there, but if I just see the coverage and reset back, Taequann kind of wins in the backside route. That's just kind of those things there. You can try to make those plays happen. When they work, it's awesome, but if you want to just go through the whole entire offense, you know where you can get to and kind of where you can find the free guy with the better leverage and the better matchup.
Okay. So taking a look. Yep. Seeing what they can fix, what they can. You got to play football to get better playing
football. Yeah. I'm a big believer, which might lead one to believe like, so why didn't you play in the preseason?
