What are the highlights of the conversation about Michael Jordan and the Royals?
Frank, I guess it would help if I turned your mic on.
It would help if you turned my mic on. You probably heard me say it.
I hear you better, Frank.
Thank you.
How are you?
I'm good, buddy. This place. Yeah, I saw you going after attacking the plate of food like you hadn't eaten in months. I heard you talking about the fact they are the number one rated chips in dip. Oh, yeah. Yeah.
How does Frank's background influence his opinions on food and culture?
It's unbelievable. They're chili powder on the chips. And then the dip is their queso dip. It's loaded. It's got chorizo in there.
Chorizo.
Chorizo, guac, whatever it is.
So you say you're a Spanish miner.
Yes, right, exactly. Okay, yeah. Actually, part of my background is Spanish.
Really?
From Spain. Yeah, España. Yeah, well, what was that, 500 years ago? No, more than that. I don't think you're getting any credit for that. When was the Spanish Armada? That's how long ago it was.
Okay. Good to know. Good to know. Yes, we're at Brookside Barrio. Coming out, great place to celebrate. You have some Cinco de Mayo. Making some new friends. Our buddy James gave us a great tip. James, thank you. Thanks, man. Have a good afternoon, buddy. Awesome. In with an A's fan. But it's her second favorite team, she said. So we're going to let it go. We're going to let it go. So I'm good with that. I have an A's batting practice hat. Oh, do you? Yeah, I like the A's. I like the uniforms that aren't red, white, and blue. Okay. So the A's, the Padres, the Astros. Well, they don't make them goofy.
Different things.
Right? I just like when they use different, you know, the Giants. You know, I like those. So, you know, I buy the gear when I go to the town. It's like my souvenir. You always have a hoodie. I like hoodies. You do like hoodies. I do like hoodies. Yes, I'm a fan of the hoodies. In fact, many people have given me hoodies. Oh, yeah, I'm sure. Benedictine. Gave you a hoodie? Benedictine has given me two hoodies. Wonderful. One was an alum of Benedictine, and I just recently got a hoodie from Benedictine.
That's a nice deal. Yeah.
And I have a Benedictine volleyball T-shirt from a former intern, Hops. Yeah, okay. So I have much Benedictine gear. I have an Emporia State T-shirt from our intern, Scary. Gave me that one. Still wear it with pride. In fact, my wife wants me to get rid of it. Because it's been my workout t-shirt for a long time. And it's got holes, you know, in like the armpit area. And she's like, why don't you throw that thing away? I said, no, an intern gives it to me. I'm not throwing it away. And I go, I only wear it to work out. She goes, we're at a restaurant, and you're wearing it right now. I go, well, I was planning on working out. Instead, I went to eat. This all touches.
My wife, Sarah, went to Emporia State, right?
Yeah.
For part of time. And her two daughters played, were both All-American lacrosse players at Benedictine.
Well, there you go.
There you are. I have nothing.
Very nice.
I have zero. I have absolutely nothing. No one's giving you anything? No one ever gives me anything. Maybe if you're a better guy. Well, that might be true, too. That might help. We can just go from there. How are you?
I'm good. You're a happy man. Royals are rolling. I'm surrounded by Mexican food, and I absolutely adore Mexican food. Brookside Barrio, 6227 Brookside Plaza. That's the location. Specials on the Corona. Buckets of Corona. Corona Light. Corona Premier. Come on down and get it. They got the... Pacifico and the Modelo on draft. You can enjoy that. Plus specials on margaritas, sangrias, shot specials as well. They're going to have live music here. Also, there are other locations. There are sister locations. Redbridge, Briarcliff. Come on out and enjoy some great Mexican food. As Frank said, voted the best chips in town. So enjoy it. The burrito tacos are tremendous. East and Wolf, some of those down. We're enjoying the wonderful, wonderful queso dip.
The loaded queso dip is great. If you're watching your carbs, they got the kebabs with cilantro chimichurri. So if you want to go low carb, they got some items for you here. They got a great menu of all the traditional Mexican foods, but also they got great things with like, you know, they call it coastal Mexican, Frank.
