I don't either. I don't either. We are fortunate that we are going to be joined each and every Monday by the NFL Network's Rich Eisen, the great Rich Eisen, joins us here in the program. Rich, how are you, sir? I'm fine. How are you? Doing well. This is like how long is it, do you think, until we have a game like Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, you know, Sunday, Monday? We just have the opening week becomes every single day of an entire week.
I don't know. We'll see. We'll see on the numbers. But obviously, the reason why the season started on a Wednesday is because the only way that they could have a game in Australia on a Thursday is to have them play it on a Friday. But you know the drill. I think the Chiefs are... you know, the kings of playing on every day of the week and pretty much any day that ends in a Y. I think the Chiefs have a game this year. But I think Tuesday and Wednesday are the only days. Yeah, Tuesday and Wednesday are the only days that they're not. The Rams are playing. The Rams played obviously a Thursday game, but on a Friday they're going to play a Sunday. They'll play a On Monday coming up next week, we'll be talking about that game when we're on next week between the Giants and the Rams, which is going to be fascinating.
They play the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. I think they will play in a Saturday game towards the end of the year. Tuesday might be the only day they don't play this year. The NFL is diversifying, as you can tell.
Yeah, that was the Chiefs two years ago. The only game they didn't play was on Tuesday, and we were really hoping one of the Monday night games would go to overtime and stretch into at least after midnight Eastern time so that we would be able to say, well, they technically played on every single day of the week. But, yeah, I mean, the NFL's king. Nothing stands in its way. I'm curious, because Patrick Mahomes was a full go in training camp and had no restrictions on anything that he was doing. He was wearing the yellow no contact jersey like all the quarterbacks do. But has the incredible return of Patrick Mahomes kind of maybe flown a little bit under the radar because of just how well he did and how early he was back doing everything?
That seemed like in the offseason was going to be what we'd be talking about here for week one. In reality, it's not really much of a conversation.
Well, I mean, the reason why I think it's not much of a conversation, it's kind of twofold. One is two simple words in the national conversation is chiefs fatigue. That's what happens when you're dominant. That's what happens when you are dynastic. Just ask anybody with the Patriots, anybody with the Warriors in the NBA over the last decade, dynasty there if you're dynastic people are just sick and tired certainly when they turn on and they see you you know in a state farm commercial when you're not playing you know so there's chief fatigue in that regard and the fact that the rams acquired miles garrett which lit the pilot light under aaron donald and the dallas cowboys uh seemingly got their defense right with some interesting moves and then you uh you know in the afc have uh aaron rogers coming back and
I could go down the narrative machine here as to why people are just not going to take a minute to talk about the Chiefs nationally. That's one. And then the other one is the reality of the situation is that Mahomes wasn't hurt all last year. He was healthy. And the Chiefs struggled.
