First Homes More Affordable Now Than In 2005 New Data Says | Ep 475

29 Dec 2020

Description

In this episode, we discuss new data released as part of the Stuff housing affordability dashboard. Within this we show that although the median New Zealand sale price is $749,000 in November. The median sale price for first home buyers was $610,000 ... 19% less. We then track the number of weeks it takes to save a 10% deposit, and show that although it has increased by 33% from 84 to 112 weeks, if you include government and employer assistance, the number of weeks will have actually decreased over that time. Similarly the cost of a mortgage as a percentage of income has dropped significantly over the period. We wrap up the episode by mentioning the Property Academy video course. This 19 lesson video course will teach you the fundamentals of property investment for free.
