This is an iHeart Podcast. Guaranteed human. I'm Michelle McPhee, and I've been unraveling the strangest criminal alliance I've ever reported on. A Mormon polygamist and an Armenian businessman.
Gemma Speck 0:15
Multi-million dollar house, Ferraris and Lamborghinis, private jets. A billion dollar fraud.

But how long can this alliance last? Tell me what you know. Is somebody coming after me? Listen to Kingdom of Fraud on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Therapy Gecko 0:34
I am the Therapy Gecko. I am an unlicensed lizard therapist who takes phone calls from real anonymous humans about their problems, such as this.
Unknown 0:44
Sometimes I'll have my girlfriend pre-chew spicy food and kind of baby bird it into my mouth. Is that weird?
Julia Dhar 0:52

Imagine an Olympics where doping is not only legal but encouraged. It's the enhanced games. Some call it grotesque. Others say it's unleashing human potential. Either way, the podcast Superhuman documented it all, embedded in the games and with the athletes for a full year.
Unknown 1:34
Within probably 10 days, I put on 10 pounds. I was having trouble stopping the muscle growth.
Gemma Speck 1:41
Listen to Superhuman on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Every family has its secrets.
Unknown 1:51
But what happens when you discover that your dad has been living a double life?
Julia Dhar 1:56
That is not the look of an innocent man. Is everyone lying to me about who they are?
Unknown 2:02
I felt such desperation. I felt it was what I had to do. Listen to Deep Cover, The Family Man on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Here's something that should not be as complicated as it is, getting a racist statue removed.
Julia Dhar 2:23
And here's something that should be a whole lot easier than it is, getting a new one put up in its place. I'm Akilah Hughes, and Rebel Spirit Season 2 is about both of those things.
Therapy Gecko 2:33
As I was watching these statues come down, I was thinking about what it meant that I grew up in a majority Black city, in which there were more homages to enslavers than there were to enslaved people.

Listen to Rebel Spirit Season 2 on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hello everybody, I'm Gemma Speck and welcome back to The Psychology of Your 20s, the podcast where we talk through the biggest changes, moments and transitions of our 20s and what they mean for our psychology. Hello, everybody. Welcome back to the show. Welcome back to the podcast. It is so great to have you here back for another episode as we, of course, break down the psychology of our 20s. Today's conversation is one that I've been wanting to have for a very long time because if there is something... I would say all of us, if not a lot of us struggle with in our 20s. It is this constant cycle of trying to become better, trying to break patterns, trying to stop doing things we know we shouldn't be doing and just somehow always ending up
Julia Dhar 3:47
back where we started. Whether it is procrastination, whether it is phone addiction, vaping, drinking, I think we've all had a moment. I've definitely had a moment where I've been like, this is the last time I'm ever doing this. I'm quitting. I'm done. I'm going to become this disciplined, motivated person. And it just doesn't work. I don't think the problem is with us, if I'm being honest. I think the problem is that we actually misunderstand the psychology behind why and how change actually works. So today, we are going to do a deep dive into the science and the psychology behind changing bad habits. not like a surface level plan. We're going to go beyond discipline. We're going to go beyond the basic advice and really get into it.

And we are bringing on a special guest for this episode.
