Basketball players showed that fashion could not only be fun, but also lucrative, with brands clamoring to dress the players and give them endorsements. The league itself saw an increase in fans, as the players gained more mainstream exposure, and a new business model was created. Formula 1 has the same opportunity for growth—both financially and culturally—through fashion. Currently, Lewis Hamilton is carrying that torch, and paving the way for everyone behind him to strut their personal style all the way to the bank.
