How does Lara Trump describe the threat of Democratic Socialists to the Democratic Party?
I think at this point, the rot has been too pervasive within their party. And I think they needed to stand up a long time ago and they weren't willing to do it. And the truth is that whenever you are willing to allow this very radical group of people to kind of infiltrate your party and spew out really crazy ideas, all in the name of gaining votes because you think it may help you a little bit, you kind of get what you deserve in the end.
I'm Dave Rubin, and joining me today is the host of My View with Laura Trump on Fox News, Laura Trump. Welcome back to The Rubin Report.
Thank you. Great to be with you. Always love it.
Well, I always like talking to you. You're always bright and fresh and well-tanned and fit and doing a lot of stuff. What do you spend more time on? Is it the lifestyle health stuff, or is it the TV stuff, or is it the kid stuff? Or is it the volunteering stuff? Because I know you do a lot of that, too.
Yeah. I mean, gosh, I try to split it all up. I'll tell you what I don't do a lot of is the sleeping stuff. That's for sure. That's where I'm losing out, Dave. There's no doubt about it. And in the world of health and wellness, that is not a great thing. But I kind of feel like I'm probably like a lot of parents out there, right? We're all trying to do our best to be there for the kids, to be at all the events, to drop them off when we can. But I'm also simultaneously trying to do all these other things. Thank you for saying I'm tan. I always feel like I'm never tan enough. But in Florida, you can never be too tan. So I'm here for it.
It's got to be tough trying to tan when you're in the Trump family because there's sort of a king of color over there.
Yeah, I can't compete with that. I'm not going to try to. We're different shades. It's all good. He's going to be the, I'm crowning him the champion forever.
So as you know, I'm heading off the grid for August and I'm trying to do these last few shows before I head off, focusing a little more on the positive side of things that are happening right now rather than the negative. And that's generally what my outlook is, but there's always so much craziness and we can cover some of the... onslaught of the communists that are coming and all the rest of it. But when you're doing your show right now, and generally when you're doing the political thing, not the family thing, where are you finding the moments of goodness or hope or that, you know, things will stay, I don't know, that America will stay, say, free, that kind of thing?
Yeah, well, I'll tell you one of my biggest moments of joy recently is seeing the movement in the right direction. I think that this administration in particular is making, not only with health and wellness, with this president and our HHS secretary, Bobby Kennedy, but also for the animals. You know, I'm a huge animal lover. I have three dogs right now. If it were up to me, I'd probably have a house full. My husband would divorce me officially. But we're ending animal testing across this country. I think that's been a huge win. I was part of a team of people who helped rescue around 2,000 beagles from this facility in Wisconsin. We're working on others that currently exist because we don't need them anymore.
We have advancements in this space. We'll be right back. People truly love to be American and they love to show their patriotism. And in America's 250th year, it's been awesome to travel around the country, see people wearing their 250 shirts with the insignia and all the things celebrating America. And really, you know, at the end of the day, I think we're all more alike than we are different. We're all so different. lucky really to be born in this country. And I feel like no matter where you go in America, I always get that vibe from people. And it's a great thing to keep top of mind because to your point, there are people out there who really want to change this country. But tell you what, the first 250 years has been pretty incredible.
I want to make sure we see another 250.
So, well, amen to that.
