Always good to be here with you, Jim. And I know we have a very special guest with us today. This is a friend of yours. Would you care to introduce him?
Yeah, a new friend. We are speaking with Hasan Minhaj. Can you tell us a little bit about Hasan?
Yeah, absolutely. As many of you may know, Hasan Minhaj is an Emmy award-winning comedian, writer, and producer. He has three Netflix specials. He was a senior correspondent on The Daily Show under Trevor Noah, and he won an Emmy and Peabody Award for his weekly show, Patriot Act with Hasan Minhaj. He currently hosts a podcast called Hasan Minhaj Doesn't Know, where in a media culture dominated by certainty, Hasan leads with curiosity, doubt, and a commitment to keep his guests laughing. And Jim, you were one of those guests very recently.
Yeah, I really enjoyed it. It was a kind of Catholicism 101. And the conceit of the show is Hasan Minhaj doesn't know, and so he asks questions about all sorts of topics. And our topic was Catholicism. And I just really enjoyed the conversation, enjoyed him. And particularly at the end, where I asked him about his own faith, about being a Muslim. And I thought, boy, I'd love to have him on the podcast. And I really, I know we say every guest is special, but this is really a special conversation. And I really, I learned a ton.
Yeah, I listened to that episode and I was struck by your openness, his openness and curiosity. And it was basically an interfaith dialogue forged in friendship. So it's definitely worth checking out. And then, of course, you know, in this conversation, the mic is turned and, you know, it's on Hasan Minhaj and he gets into his own Muslim faith and his spiritual practices and so much more.
Yeah, I think it's a great pricey for people who we were talking before the show, Maggie and I, that people might know a lot of Muslims, particularly if you live in a large city, but they might not know a whole lot about Islam. And he does a wonderful job of explaining his faith and his practice of it and gets very personal, too. So we're just delighted to have him on the show.
