Chapter 1: What are necessary endings and why are they important?
Hi, this is Stephanie Musk. Today, I want to talk to you about necessary endings. Earlier this week, I was on several calls with a couple of candidates that I've known for years. Specifically, we've been talking over the last couple of years about their growing dissatisfaction with their current organization.
At the same time, we've been having a lot of dialogue about what's really important to them in their next steps. What are they really looking for in their next move? Well, we've come to that crossroads where I believe we found what they really want. And yet they still had that last minute hesitation of, do I really want to make a move? Let's face it. Fear of change is huge.
Chapter 2: How do fear and emotional energy affect career decisions?
Fear of the unknown is huge. Anytime you make a move, it takes a tremendous amount of emotional energy and they're burned out. They're worn out. They're exhausted. But when you make a principle-based decision that you know in your heart of hearts when the time is right, it still doesn't make it easy, but it does help.
Chapter 3: What principles should guide decision-making during transitions?
So I want to encourage you that, yes, there are necessary endings. And the good news is every ending is the beginning for something else. So hold tight.
Chapter 4: How can endings lead to new beginnings in your career?
Make sure that you do make principle-based decisions and those necessary endings will occur.
