Well it's it's really, really uh great to have you with us because I don't know if you've seen this at all on The Athletic, but uh Stuart's doing a very excellent piece every Monday Tuesday called uh well, Who's Won the Weekend in the Premier League? Might be a snappier title than that. But the amazing thing is that for that article, Stuart has every week been watching every single game in the Premier League in its entirety. So So what so far you've watched How many of this weekend's games have you watched so far, Stuart?
Seven. So I'm up to uh where does that leave us now? Uh thirty seven, is that right? Forty seven, thirty seven, thirty seven. What,
thirty yeah, that would be right. Yeah, thirty How fed up are you? Yeah.

games. Oh gosh. I never
worth of games, yeah. That that is mad. Yeah. I'm still enjoying it at the minute, James. I'm at the I'm at the honeymoon stage, aren't I, at the moment? Um International break, I can't wait for that to happen though. And I've never felt like that before. I hate international breaks, but I'm now really looking forward to it. So I get a few weeks off um from from this. But it's been good fun too. And I'm learning loads about, you know, new players and Well, I perhaps didn't appreciate before. Um so yeah, I'm really enjoying it actually.
Which new player have you most appreciated that you didn't appreciate before then?
Well, I feel like I should have known more about Sanghari before he came to Brentford, but I didn't and he's been fab to watch, certainly in the first two games. And then I've really enjoyed watching Sunderland actually. Uh Sadiqi in midfield is uh been fantastic. Um other players I knew about, but I'm getting to see more of now. Alex Scott's been fantastic. So uh yeah, it's good. I mean I'm still trying to explain the concept to people. Some people get really worked up about the fact that their their team one and that they appear lower in our ranking table than a team that drew. But that's the whole point of it. It's about performance and not result or data necessarily. So it's very subjective, but um Yeah, I felt like the only way I could do this fairly um would be to watch the game in its entirety and then that way I've got a good perspective of whether a team played well or not.
Obviously people can argue with that, of course, but um yeah, at least I can say I've watched the game in full.
Amazing. Yeah, this sort of volume of matches to watch and consume that much football is very challenging. It reminds me actually and this is this is going back quite a few years, but there's a football writer uh called Thomas Mortimer, who set himself a challenge of watching at least one football match every day of the year. So all three hundred and sixty five days, including Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day, he had to find a match that was on and watch it in its entirety. And I think like he used to he at at the start he was fairly enthusiastic about the whole thing, about the the sort of the novelty of the challenge. But I I I don't want to put too much of it down on it but its spirits were fairly crushed about midway through, I think.
