This week we’re beginning our series on the 12 Steps. We begin, naturally, with Step One which reads “We Admitted We Were Powerless Over Alcohol, that our Lives Had Become Unmanageable”. Critical to overcoming any problem is recognizing & accepting there is a problem in the first place. Step one at it’s very core, is a surrender to our powerlessness and the unmanageability that manifests in our lives as a result. We’ll unpack the key elements of understanding what Step One means, what causes our powerlessness and unmanageability, and practical ways we can work Step One in our own recoveries.
