You Trigger Me' How Past Trauma Affects Your Current Relationship 'ask dorothy' The WISDOM podcast Season 4 Episode 102 💜 'The truth is that our new partner will at times evoke emotion that feels similar to a previous event in which we were treated poorly, neglectfully and with hurt or abuse.' ⭐The Seventh Episode in a Series on Living Remarkable🤩 ~ To live remarkable is to step into the highest wisdom of your authority – authority as self-empowered, self-governing, of right action, of honor and grace – and acting with self-control. This becomes a deliberate example of confidence that builds from personal expertise – of self-knowledge, personal autonomy and a strong sense of self. It is to live your greatest each and every moment – greatness that is your natural state – as love in action. To live remarkable is to choose using your free will to live upstanding – to be excellent, to shine beyond, to do your very best – to live by the highest level ideals you can possibly have - now and of this moment. ~ Today's Episode: You bring into your new relationship all of what you carry ~ all of what you continue to live 'in' and 'as.' When you speak to the current moments in which you feel triggered, you can then be more attentive to remaining present - and to organizing your emotions in the 'here and now.' The outcome is typically 'a learning' of both how to self-regulate and how to remain present as an observer ~ as someone engaged in understanding this moment, this interaction, what our partner truly meant and their intentions behind their actions. We can also realize that she or he is not our former partner, nor parent, nor sibling - rather they are the person that we want to build our present and future with.
