A new study shows that the expansion of Medicaid keeps rural hospitals from closing in states like Colorado, which added some four hundred thousand people to their program. Thirty two states expanded Medicaid under the Affordable Care Act, not only cutting the the uninsured by huge margins but making hospitals six times more likely to keep open with the increase in insured patients.
