What are the highlights of State of Origin Game 3?

Charlie White 0:00
Triple M footy lives on, listener. Thanks to McDonald's and Ream Hot Water. This is State of Origin on Triple M. This is Triple M's Origin Rumble.
Nathan Hindmarsh 0:19
Get ready.
Charlie White 0:22
Welcome to the Origin Rumble. Can you down the kickoff here of State of Origin Game 3? And we've got two absolute legends of State of Origin in the house. In the blue corner, Nathan Highmarsh. And in the maroon corner, Gordon Tallis.
Gordon Tallis 0:34
Yeah, we're not well coordinated with our clothes. I'm in green. Mate, I've got to be one of the cool kids in that Earl gear. Louis Brown.
Dave Riccio 0:42
Only cool kids are wearing it. I know. I got it on as well. Cool kid. Got it on as well. Cool kid. Coolest kid.
Charlie White 0:48
Yeah, there you go. But, mate, you've got a copper water bottle there. What's that all about? Have you been earthing before coming here?
Gordon Tallis 0:53
Yeah, that's what it's all about. Well, back when you were a kid, the copper pipe was supposed to be better for the water.
Charlie White 0:58
Yeah.
Gordon Tallis 0:59
And then they just put it through PVC plastic.
Charlie White 1:02
Microplastics in the water. Oh, God. Let's talk to your water, everyone. Let's do a podcast on that.
Gordon Tallis 1:07
Nathan, I'm trying to turn.
Charlie White 1:08
When you get 50.
Gordon Tallis 1:09
Yeah.
Charlie White 1:10
We're doing it all thanks to Maccas. When the footy's on, you can't miss a moment. Get Maccas delivered for just 99 cents. Mic delivery only on the My Maccas app. How bloody good is that? Honestly, I don't know how they make money giving it away for 99 cents, but, boys, game three. That's just the delivery fee.
Dave Riccio 1:25
Yeah.
Charlie White 1:25
Yeah, that's just the delivery fee.
Dave Riccio 1:27
You're not buying Maccas for 99 cents.
Charlie White 1:29
But, I mean, what do you pay a delivery person an hour? Maybe they're getting paid $25, $28 an hour. I've got two children on their P plates. They're my delivery drivers. Okay, so you save the 99 cents. You just go straight to the source. Yep. Yep, I love it. I don't. What's your Macca's order these days?
Dave Riccio 1:45
Depends what mood I'm in, really. It's hard for me. If I'm leaving Matty John's show... on a Thursday night, which is quite late, Fletch will, because Fletch is an enabler, right? I'll try and lose weight and Fletch will be leaving the shack. He goes, oh, I'm just going to stop in at Macca's and get a cheeseburger. And then that is in my head for the next 35 minutes while I drive past Jural Macca's and I just go, sitting on left at the roundabout, I go right at the roundabout and I pull in there. And if I'm in the mood to wait, because fillet of fish is my go-to and they're usually not really, they're kind of made to order because they don't sit around for too long. So I'll say fillet of fish, large fillet of fish meal with a sparkling water.
Gordon Tallis 2:20
My last order was a quarter pounder meal deal large with a Coke Zero because it's the yin and yang, right?
Dave Riccio 2:25
You've got to have the good and bad.
Gordon Tallis 2:27
Yeah, yeah. And 10 nuggets with sweet and sour sauce. Little Billy was in the back because I don't tell mum.
Dave Riccio 2:32
Yeah.
Gordon Tallis 2:32
But normally it's breakfast. I love their breakfast. I love their bacon and egg McMuffins.
Dave Riccio 2:38
Reminds me of being hungover, Macca's breakfast. Having a hash brown.
Gordon Tallis 2:41
That was my treat when I played. Yeah. Yeah. So that was my treat on the way to recovery. Whether I had a beer or not, it was to get Maccas because I didn't need it as much as what I do now.
Charlie White 2:51
Game day. We're in the morning here. State of Origin Game 3. You guys have been in this position as players before. What's it like on game day? How nervous are you?
Dave Riccio 2:59
Horrendous. Absolutely horrendous game day in Origin. I didn't like it. I didn't like game day of any day, really. Any game. It wasn't my cup of tea. But obviously you start off, you eat your breakfast. It was the only day of the week I'd eat breakfast was game day. Light breakfast. Then it'd be a team walk or whatever like that. And then you go into a lunch. Another light lunch, and then people would start shutting it down. Movies would go on. Blinds would be shut. All that sort of stuff. But I wasn't a – I'd like to be having a nap. Were you a napper? Yeah. We discussed this before. See, I wasn't a napper. So I'd wander the corridors, the hallways, looking for someone else who wasn't a napper. Stalker. I was a stalker.
Dave Riccio 3:38
Just a room stalker. And then I'd just be in my own head noise, walking up and down the hallways, looking for someone to talk to, take my mind off it.
