Triple M footy lives on, listener. Thanks to McDonald's and Ream Hot Water. Here we go. We've got a game on our hands. The NRL is on Triple M. How about that? And we've got all the goss. Behind the scenes news on and off the field. From press conferences to inside the locker rooms.
Unknown 0:17
I love being a part of it.
Shane Flanagan 0:19
I'm learning to feel real at the moment. It's a tough game to play. Must have responsibility.
Brent Read 0:23
A really good chance. On Triple M, this is NRL Daily.
Charlie White 0:28
Welcome to Triple M NRL Daily here on your Wednesday. And as always, the great Danny Wyther is in the house. How are you, Danny? I'm very uncomfortable.
Danny Weidler 0:35
You know, I don't like being called that. I'm not comfortable with that.
Charlie White 0:38
I'm just going to keep calling you that. It's nice to see you, Charlie. Yeah, it's great to see you. And we've got a very special guest in the house today. The one and only Shane Flanagan. How are you, brother? Good, gentlemen. How are you? Very good, mate. You're coming off the back of today. Obviously, your brand new television show coming out as well.
Shane Flanagan 0:50
Yeah, it was filmed last night. So, yeah, really excited. It comes out today. So, I think it went pretty well. It did, mate.
Charlie White 0:58
It's on Disney+. So Disney+, actually the second biggest streaming platform in Australia.
Shane Flanagan 1:01
I think I wrote that in my column.
Charlie White 1:02
As I read in your column on the weekend? Yes. It's good. Thanks, Danny. I haven't had too many positive stories in your column.
Danny Weidler 1:08
Not many people do get positive stories in my column, Shane.
Charlie White 1:12
Another broadcast getting involved in rugby league, though. Good signs for the game.
Danny Weidler 1:15
I think so, yeah. Tell me about, I don't know much about the show. I've only been told it's happening, so how can I watch it?
Charlie White 1:21
Disney Plus. So download Disney Plus. I've got Disney Plus.
Danny Weidler 1:23
Well, then it'll be on there. My little boy is a big Star Wars fan, so we watch all the Star Wars on Disney.
Charlie White 1:27
First episode comes out late tonight. Shane Flanagan, James Graham. How late? Is it late night? No, no, no. It's coming out about 3 p.m. this afternoon.
Danny Weidler 1:34
It's not late tonight. It's late for me because I've been up since 2 a.m. I said later. Oh, I thought you said late tonight.
Shane Flanagan 1:39
2 a.m. What could you be doing at 2 a.m.?
Danny Weidler 1:42
Not sleeping. Just not sleeping. I've actually been a bit better since Origin finished. You know how- Origin really knocked me about. Yeah? Yeah. I get stressed by Origin.
Charlie White 1:49
You know how you do those like Mark Wahlberg did his daily timetable where he said like wake up at 4 a.m. Mark Wahlberg. I know, yeah. He's like wake up at 4 a.m., pray for two hours, play golf. Can we get a little Danny Wilder schedule? What time do you wake up? I'm not praying for two hours. What time do you wake up?
Danny Weidler 2:06
Today I was okay. Today I was like 4.30. 4.30. That's a sleeping.
Charlie White 2:10
And when do you start working? 5.30. And what does that entail?
Danny Weidler 2:15
Calling people at 5.30? Just working out what I'm going to do, writing a little bit, sending a few notes out to myself, emails.
Charlie White 2:23
Notes to yourself. Emails to yourself. Yep, always.
Danny Weidler 2:26
I talk to myself. Who else is up at 5.30?
Shane Flanagan 2:28
Yeah, it's true. You can get me. You can get me at 5.30. You're in the gym, aren't you? When I was coaching, I was like 4 o'clock. I was laying in bed thinking about things. And then I got to a point that I just said, let's get up. Yeah. let's get up and got up and headed down to Wollongong.
Danny Weidler 2:44
Were you always up early?
Shane Flanagan 2:46
I could get you early. Yeah, always an early riser. My dad was always up early and like making noise in the kitchen and like if one's up, all's up was his attitude towards it. So we all had to get up.
Danny Weidler 2:57
One of my favourite stories I did this year was with Flannoy. We were in Vegas, and he said, do you want to do a yarn? We'll walk the streets at 6 a.m. of Vegas. I've got a camera with Flannery. We walked down the strip at 6 a.m. Brilliant. It was actually really good fun, and we bumped into Peter Volandis.
Charlie White 3:15
Was he on his way home, Peter, or was he?

What did Shane Flanagan say about his new Disney+ TV show and schedule?

Danny Weidler 3:17
He was on his way to a breakfast meeting with Nick Politis. Wow. Not surprisingly. Wow. And I think maybe James Packer might have been there. Who's who? The heavy hitters. Yeah. And me and Flannery were just walking the streets.
