But the administration at the time was insisting that the conflict was winding down.
Yep. And of course, now it's not. We're in 10 consecutive nights of U.S. bombing Iran. We've sent additional fighter aircraft now to the region. We have 18, sadly, 18 American service members have been killed since this conflict began. And yesterday, or two days ago, Pete Hegstaff, the Secretary of Defense, was on the Hill testifying in front of the Senate Appropriations Committee. And honestly, I tried to watch the whole thing. I couldn't do it because my head exploded. I mean, just the... The lies and the craziness coming from him. I mean, I remember back when, I guess April, when they said this is over and we won. You know, some of the things that came out from Donald Trump and Pete Hagsworth was...
and I'm quoting here, total and complete victory, 100%. And Hegseth said that the Iranians were rendered combat ineffective for years to come. Capital V military victory. And here we are. You know, they're lobbing missiles, killing Americans. What are we doing here?
We don't know. We still don't know what this war is about other than raising the price of gas for the average American and asking for another $1.15 trillion, with a T, to pay for this war that we don't understand. And Amy, you mentioned 18 troops dead today. Think about all the troops wounded and all of the information that they are not sharing with us because they, by law, have to tell us when troops die, but they don't have to tell us when troops are wounded. And we know that at least 100 additional troops have been wounded. These are American soldiers.
I did a segment on MSNBC yesterday, and Paul Rykoff mentioned that, that we have all these other secretaries, transportation and all these others, going out and talking about the war, but where's the VA secretary? You know, we're not talking about the wounded. We're going to have another generation who we're going to have to take care of because of this.

And of course, we talked about the dignified transfer of remains that come back and the president's. Words on that and his tweet that he put up where he said, look, there's only, you know, 18 Americans dead here and compared to the Korean War and some of these other wars. And it's just, it's so...
Just terrible. How do you as a military family read a tweet like that and think, yeah, only 18? Like every one of those people is a person with a family who is. defending this country. And it's one thing to defend this country in a situation that we understand, where we feel it, we know what's going on, but it's totally different when it's something that they can't explain to us and that they keep coming back and saying, like you said earlier, victory, we've done this, and then we're back in it again. Like, what is the end point here? When are we going to be done?
Well, do you recall when Trump used the deaths of 13 Marines in the Afghan pullout for his own personal political gain, you know, bringing the families up during the convention, the GOP, I mean, just criticizing Biden for the deaths of those servicemen and women. And we now have a war. That he alone started, Trump alone with Pete Hegseth and maybe Bibi Netanyahu, started not a winnable war, not by air power alone, with a strategy that was not thought through, no authorization from Congress, no backing from the American people, no funding, no allies.
