Jicks, I'm Al. And I'm Sal. And this is Timber at Chicks, the show that shares life lessons and tips to help make you rich in life. And today we're coming to you with a little Updated refresh on a take that we've shared on the podcast a couple of years ago. But we're gonna be talking about whether or not the fig tree theory is outdated. It's a very popular theory about you know values, priorities, and where you want your life to go. And we want to take another look at it through a different lens and discuss kind of the conversation happening around it. But before we get into To that Sally Bally love of my life. What are you obsessed with? Okay, my obsession
Alex Hourigan 0:49
of the week is an unsexy product. Ooh, I these are my favorite. Yeah, that's changing my life. And it's the scoop blotting papers. Yeah. Have you seen them? I got them from Ador Beauty. Yeah. Scoop. S K O O P
Sally McMullen 1:04
Scoop. Scoop. Scoop. Um what just had went into my head? It was School Duck.
Alex Hourigan 1:09
Scoda. Yeah, totally. These blotting papers, I wish I had them when we went to Europe. And I'm so glad that I found them before we've gone into summer. Into Australian summer. Because I've never really been like a big blotting paper girly. Because I think I always associated it as a product that would be for people who have oily skin. I don't necessarily have oily skin. I'm more of a dry skin girly, but I do get very sweet. sweaty and I find that it can be really hard to like bl like basically blot the sweat without ruining your makeup. And I just saw these blotting papers at the checkout a few weeks ago at Adore Beauty. And I was like, oh maybe I'll give these a go. And they have two different kinds. And they're just like these little charcoal blotting sheets.
Alex Hourigan 2:02
And they're so good for blotting any apparently they are really good if you do have oily skin. But just as a sweaty girly, I found them very useful and found that they don't move my makeup too much, which I've really liked. And there's like a hundred sheets in there and it was fifteen dollars. Yeah. Yeah. But when I got them they were on sale for like eleven or something. They were doing a sale at the time. Oh,
Sally McMullen 2:25
that's cool. Yeah. My obsession is something of a similar vein to yours, your favourite saying ever. Um You actually haven't said that recently. Probably 'cause you pointed it out and then I would bring it back. I will never say it again. No, you're so silly. Um, is that Loop have launched these like mouth tapes. Like, you know how people I haven't tried it yet, but I'm intrigued. Yeah, okay. So there's these like ma you've seen that mouth tapes is like a thing to help people sleep. I am also not sure if this is just like you know, the commercialization of sleeping and how like everything's like and now this lavender potion you spray on your pillow and you asleep for seven years.
Georgie Crawford 3:07
Yeah.
Sally McMullen 3:08
Um I don't know if it's that or if it's like, you know, the real deal. But basically, th ages ago, Grace Beverly this is also why I'm a little bit obsessed with it. Grace Beverly like posted on TikTok and she was like, Look, I need someone to make this 'cause I'm banned from building businesses, which I was like slightly obsessed with her. And she was like, Can someone please make a hydrating like lip mask for sleeping? Anyway, Loop has now gone and done it. And so basically it's like mouth tape, but it's a hydrating lip mask as well.
Alex Hourigan 3:41
Fuck
Sally McMullen 3:41
that
Alex Hourigan 3:42
smart.
Sally McMullen 3:42
Isn't that smart? Two in one combo. Two in one. So night shift hydrating mouth tape. It's twenty five dollars from Mecca and you get ten in a pack. But yeah, it's basically like overnight lip care and then also the adhesive is like the side of the adhesive is the side of the mouth. And like helps Um Oh no, it said should be avoided by people with nasal congestion or blockages, severe sleep apnea, or certain respiratory conditions. Oh it's probably just like a safety thing to be like if you can't breathe through your nose, don't cover your mouth. Yeah, fair. Yeah. Um but yeah, I'm I'm intrigued. Oh, would you use it?
