Two Strike Noise - A Baseball History Podcast

Episode 134 - Baseball Traditions

14 Sep 2021

Description

Baseball is full of traditions, good or bad, that as a fan, you’ve got to take in stride if you go to a ballgame. There’s singing (the anthem, Take Me Out to the Ballgame), there’s strange people in costumes (the Chicken, the Phanatic), there is trickery (keep a decoy ball to throw back if you catch an opponent’s HR), and there’s more singing if you’re team wins. Why do we do these crazy things during a game? Plus, Lars Nootbaar, the Bob Brenley Game (?) and a 1990 Fleer edition of Wax Pack Heroes.  The Bob Brenley Game highlights - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VlmNKgEITM0&ab_channel=MLB Bang Your Heat (It’s a Celebration) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OewLpY6gVd4&ab_channel=BillMcClintock Twitter - @twostrikenoise Instagram - @twostrikenoise Two Strike Noise on YouTube - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCvh7epD-mqT9qCIV7CNqhog Twitch - https://www.twitch.tv/twostrikenoise E-mail - [email protected] We pull ALOT of commons in Wax Pack Heroes. If you've got those Tom Foley or Ernest Riles cards just sitting around you can donate those commons to charity and maybe spark a child's interest in baseball and collecting.
