Two Strike Noise - A Baseball History Podcast

Episode 218 - The Trades that Almost Were

06 Jul 2023

Description

Back from a break and do we ever have alot of baseball to talk about! More strange minor league promotions, the Founding Father of infielders, our new baseball game obsession, knuckleballs back in the big leagues and the train-wreck that is the Kay-Rod show. In our main segment we look at some of the trades that were all but done deals in MLB but ran into a snag that kept them from happening. From big name, Hall of Famers saying “no”, to pay cuts, to deadlines missed and to what would have been the biggest deal in all of professional sports history that was consummated over drinks but fell through after sleeping it off.  Wax Pack Heroes look at some 1991 cards, when a show favorite makes an early appearance.  Don’t forget, you can leave us a message at 607-216-8811.  Facebook -https://www.facebook.com/TwoStrikeNoise/ Twitter - @twostrikenoise Instagram - @twostrikenoise Bluesky - @twostrikenoise.bsky.social Threads - @twostrikenoise Two Strike Noise on YouTube - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCvh7epD-mqT9qCIV7CNqhog Twitch - https://www.twitch.tv/twostrikenoise E-mail - [email protected] We pull ALOT of commons in Wax Pack Heroes. If you've got those Tom Foley or Ernest Riles cards just sitting around you can donate those commons to charity and maybe spark a child's interest in baseball and collecting.
